He may of had his flaws, but I'd say the good things he did and stood for are something for all of us to aim for.

Further evidence that Mr. Rogers is the greatest human being who ever lived.

He has to be the world nicest person. I never really got into him as a child, but now I love him.

"A Presbyterian minister on public television wouldn't fly with some of you."

One of the best things about his show is that you never knew he was a minister because he never talked about religion per se. He was just a very nice man who taught me things and talked about how to deal with life situations and being kind to people. If all religious people were like him, I might not be an atheist now. Really, he taught people how to be a good person without all the religious judgmental bs.

Cracked recently did a piece on Mr Rogers. Almost made me jealous we didn't have him in my childhood.

(The stolen car thing is probably a myth, though.)

Let's just hope nothing in the vein of Jimmy Savile shows up:( He really sounds like one of the good guys.

"A Presbyterian minister on public television wouldn't fly with some of you."

I don't define people by their titles or letters after their names, I define them by their message, what they "preach", if you will. Fred Rogers was *always* about acceptance, tolerance, turning the other cheek and love. What more is there to say about him?

When I was a little girl, I watched Captain Kangaroo. Maybe Mr. Rogers was on then, but I never heard of him until I was grown up. When my first little girl was living with me overseas, she watched Mr. Rogers. He was a wonderful, kind person. The world is a little bit sadder without Mr. Rogers. Oh, and Captain Kangaroo was cool, too.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

"Be skeptical of the internet. And of pretty much everything"

Then how do we know we can trust what you say, Andrew... if that is your real name.

Really, I think a lot of people here would've gone ape$hit if Mr. Rogers were on today. A Presbyterian minister on public television wouldn't fly with some of you.

Link: Mr. Rogers - An Unexpected Hero [Pic] [Rate Link] - I always liked him but now I admire him. His birthday was this week, he would've been 85.
