If it's any consolation 2929AZDR, I was involved in an incident on the bus circa Inauguration day (how ironic, right?) in which an underage passenger was assaulted by a 300-pound gorilla of similar proportion to this fine specimen of urban origin here - except he was conspicuously under the influence of some type of mind-altering substance, and it wasn't alcohol. I can tell you that because of the proximity we were within as soon as he socked that kid. Suffice to say I wasn't one of these helpless bystanders. And the only reason I had the confidence to 'diffuse' the situation is because of Sho-rin-ryu in my youth, which I was encouraged to take by my father and dedicated to practicing seriously. Otherwise, who knows if I'd have had the confidence to insert myself into such a situation, and have an outcome of such success. Just a little insight into why you're so often unsurprised. |
