Yes, let's be picky about her beliefs. Makes us feel very superior.
I don't really believe in God either, but if it made her feel better, who are we to criticise? Really, it's one thing to say how silly it is when you are not standing in front of a grieving person, quite another to see their face contorted with pain and tell them how futile and foolish they are for any consoling thought.
Maybe she will think it over when she gets older and have a more sophisticated point of view on death. But right now, cut the poor child some slack in your head and stop squeezing your butt so tight it makes diamonds. |
