Sunday, February 24, 2013 7:25:00 AM RobSwindol-"So what happens when a woman shoots a man on the streets and tells the cops, when they arrive "I was just preventing him from raping me"?" Just like any other crime, she would have prove that it was, in fact, self-defense. So, YOU consider a raped woman morally superior to woman who has just stopped the rapist. Gotcha, you can now be ignored. |

Sunday, February 24, 2013 5:15:15 AM So what happens when a woman shoots a man on the streets and tells the cops, when they arrive "I was just preventing him from raping me"? Retarded gun fanatics don't see the stupidity behind allowing people to use guns as preventative crime measures. For example, after the crashing of Lynard Skynard's plane, Artimus Pyle, who was wounded, walked to a nearby farm and was then shot in the shoulder by the farmer. It's this kind of trigger happy "shoot first and ask questions later" bullshyt that I find intolerable, but seems to actually be promoted by conservative gun fanatics. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 9:43:43 PM The saddest thing is, he's not really any dumber than the other liberal gun-control advocates. He just doesn't know when to shut up. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 9:14:25 PM lauriloo-"80-90% of sexual assaults are perpetrated by individuals known to the survivor. " I don't care if they know them or not. I have no problem with ANY rapist getting shot. Preferably in the Johnson. lauriloo-"More guns on campus just mean more dead kids" See, that's your OPINION. It does not necessarily follow that it is fact. Getting back to the video: Given the women who WISH to carry a gun the CHOICE to (you ARE pro-choice, right?) is a much better solution that this dipwad came up with.

Saturday, February 23, 2013 8:30:50 PM @lauriloo: Please to explain how restricting girls from carrying concealed pistols will REDUCE rape? I await your reply with baited breath... |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 8:22:37 PM " Banning alcohol? Look how well that worked before! " Great example of gun people's black and white hyperbole thinking. Did I say ban alcohol? College kids are usually under 21 and illegal to drink, right? Actually, I was suggesting that girls protect themselves by not getting wasted but your paranoia took it all the way to prohibition. You guys are certifiable. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 8:19:37 PM An update to your rape article: not what it might be Sounds sketchy to me. The guy might have been totally innocent and got shot by a runaway. We don't know and he's not alive to defend himself. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 8:13:51 PM I did not say that, or even infer it. I SINCERELY apologise @MeGrendel! I thought about including a "sarc" tag, but figured it was so "over the top" it wouldn't be neccessary. It was! I'm sorry! I was being sarcastic! MY bad! And I mean it, MY bad! You know what would lower rapes on campus? @lauriloo: Banning alcohol? Look how well that worked before! Oh, wait... it was a disaster... But lets do it again anyhow! NOT sarcastic: Lets ban alcohol! Just like pot!Hooray! (/sarc) |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 7:56:59 PM You know what would lower rapes on campus? 1. Less drinking/drugging by everyone, but especially girls 2. Guys being raised to have respect for girls 3. Decent guys stepping in when they see a girl getting taken advantage of and stopping it (that's what saved me at my first college party before I learned how guys can be). More guns on campus just mean more dead kids and people who now have to live with killing someone, probably someone they knew.

Saturday, February 23, 2013 7:42:56 PM Oh and MeGrendel- maybe you can pick a news story that has actual details in it like how old she was (how mature) whether the woman knew the rapist and how she got the gun and how long he had her in the house. One in a million instance doesn't mean every 20 year old girl is going to successfully shoot a rapist. She's far more likely to get shot than shoot. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 7:35:58 PM Stats for you: Stats Excerpts: 80-90% of sexual assaults are perpetrated by individuals known to the survivor. In a survey of students at 171 institutions of higher education, alcohol was involved in 74% of all sexual assaults. Few girls get raped by a random boogie man finding them walking back to the dorm and jumping on them. These are fellow classmates or ex-boyfriends who meet up with them at a party and the girl is too wasted to think clearly. Hence my comment that girls need to stop incapacitating themselves and making themselves vulnerable. Unlike most of you arguing with me, I was ACTUALLY a college girl at some point so I know a little bit about how to protect myself in this situation. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 6:58:20 PM 5Cats-"Then females should never go to University! Easy-peasy! Those sluts are just "asking for it" eh?" I did not say that, or even infer it. When virtually every major college has installed 'Emergency Call Boxes' (also know as 'Rape Lights'), you can't come to any other conclusion that there is a rape problem at colleges. I wish it weren't so, but lauriloo's idiotic comment that 'rape isn't a huge problem at most college campuses' is laughably easy to disprove. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 6:43:18 PM A college campus is one of the likelist places a woman can get raped. @MeGrendel: Then females should never go to University! Easy-peasy! Those sluts are just "asking for it" eh? @lauriloo: You're missing the point here: This Democrat is saying that "IF" girls start carrying guns a lot of innocent guys will "get popped". BUT! They already CAN carry guns, the debate is to STOP THEM from doing so. HE SAYS that all a girl needs to do to avoid rape is "stay in safe zones" and to "carry a whistle". Do YOU agree with him? Or perhaps you agree that a WOMAN should have a CHOICE in how to defend herself? That the State shouldn't TELL HER how to live her life? Right? Pro-abortion but anti-choice? Say it ain't so @lauriloo! |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 5:44:41 PM @lauriloo I might suggest watching the first video on that link for both an example you ask for and how much gun ownership amongst women has risen in the past 5 or 6 years. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 5:26:56 PM If someone could lay out the fantasy scenario where a girl in the process of being raped could get at a gun in her purse to kill the guy, I'd love to hear. In order for a gun to be a reasonable means of protection, the user has to have some alone time to prepare to shoot. Getting jumped from behind isn't a situation a gun could help. BUT, you could provide a weapon for the guy to use against you when he has you subdued so congrats on that. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 4:57:55 PM "I'd also like to challenge your belief that most women don't carry guns." Most PEOPLE don't have guns so it would follow that most women don't have guns, let alone carry them on their persons every day. Simple logic. But if you like to believe you aren't part of a very small group, go ahead and delude yourself. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 4:55:52 PM @MeGrendel you can insult me all you want, it just makes you look bad. Last time I checked, I can't kill someone with my computer so why do I need training to use it? If I can't use my computer properly, I'm the only one that suffers. The sad part of this argument is that stranger rape isn't a huge problem at most college campuses so this issue is just more pro-gun people creating a danger that really doesn't exist to try to create a reason for more people to have guns. Fear mongering is the pro-gun people's go-to. When in doubt, warn against zombie apocalypse. |

He has a point. If a girl goes into a bar she totally deserves for some stranger to spike her drink and rape her. She jumped in the path of that bullet! He has a point... it's a stupid, dumbass point, but it's still apoint. |

Saturday, February 23, 2013 3:16:48 PM @Lillim: Nicely said! @SmagBoy: Dianne Feinstein: Wants to take guns away from US Citizens, and thinks it's OK to drop drones on US Citizens without a warrent. You keep repeating that lie: "resonable safety controls" but that's all it is, a bare-faced lie. WHO says it's "reasonable"? If the majority think so? Then put it to a vote! What size magazine is "reasonable"? 30? 20? 15? 12? 10? 6? 3? 1? All the "proposed laws" are about -restricting- and NOT about -safety- at all. The Democrats even admit this! Did you watch Joe "The Sherriff" Biden's video? |
