If I were homeless {and I still could be one day, you never know}
my sign will say,
"You'd need a drink too if you had my life!"

tedgp - I am quoting him correctly!
He said to me personally {we were very close}.
You weren't even there!

Now he's twenty dollars in the hole...gee, I wonder how he ever became homeless in the first place.

Gerry... it's " Never believe what you read on the internet. - Abraham Lincoln".

At least quote the fake quote correctly.

We were on our way home from grocery shopping when we saw a guy holding a sign. Something along the lines of "please help, very hungry." We gave him a loaf of bread, he gave us a disgusted looked and tossed it over his shoulder.

Another time, guy was begging on a street corner, I stopped at the light making my turn and informed him that the gas station down the road was hiring. He told me to f*ck off.

pmsl Gerry... I like those.

I saw a homeless guy once and the top of his coat was moving and shaking about and people were throwing their change into it.

I asked him if it happened a lot and he said

Yes...it's my lively hood.

Ah...the old ones are the best. Especially if they're Tommy Cooper's.

I'm tired of completely unverifiable internet stories. They're probably not true. I could take a picture of a hundred bill and type a heart warming paragraph onto the picture and it would reach #1 on reedit. How fickle the people can be.

One time in France I was confronted by a gaggle of gypsy children, pleading for help. Little did they know that not 20 minutes prior I had seen their head gypsy yelling at them all to listen up and learn the proper way to grift.

See I had overhead them all speaking perfect english as they planned. They clearly targeted the english speakers with their tales of sorrow.

Some approached me, asked if I spoke english, to which I replied in my normal american accent, "I'm sorry, I don't speak engligh," and walked away, speaking english to my wife as we moved on.

Watch out for them. The scam is for the talking to engage you in conversation, while her hoard of gypsy children sneek up from being and pick your pockets. Luckily for me, all my cash and cards was in a pouch around my neck under my shirt. Yes, I was a tourist, there to see the sites and also protect my money - nothing more.

Did he saw that all he saw was GREAT EXPECATIONS FOR HER?

And did later, an anomonous benefactor pre-pay her schooling so that should become a proper lady of high-society working with Ms. Wikersham?

Also a southpark reference here...

I can't believe OldOllie watches south park. You've just vindicated yourself in my book.

I was gonna give my change to a homeless guy today, but his sign said "ONE DAY IT COULD BE YOU."

So I held onto it, just in case he was right

I used to volunteer in a soup kitchen.

At closing time, they get quite resentful when you say, "Come on, some of us have got homes to go to."

I tried to share a kebab with a homeless guy I saw sitting on a bench last night.

He told me to piss off and buy my own.

I asked a pretty, young, homeless woman if I could take her home, and she said yes with a provacative smile.

Then I walked off with her cardboard box.
