Wednesday, February 20, 2013 2:57:53 AM Wow. Because straight kids totally have no problems dealing with their parents. Totally move out, and only see them at forced holiday fun. Life is too short to wake up every day wishing that you had died in your sleep. |

Monday, February 18, 2013 4:49:30 PM Sounds like you know quite a bit about what it's like to be rejected by your mother. I feel sorry for you. Actually, I always got along fine with my mother. But, then, I'm not a whiney little fag. |

Monday, February 18, 2013 12:47:52 PM Hey kid, you said on your follow up video that you are trying to read all the comments on Youtube and the other places your video was shared. You'll want to just skip these. There are a lot of asses on here. |

Monday, February 18, 2013 3:51:18 AM I like this kid. Thoughtful, well-spoken, intelligent. Isn't that what we want from our kids? To have that stifled because he's gay, blows my mind. As to the follow-up, I think he's just truly baffled that he's had that much virtual support, when he previously had none at all.

Monday, February 18, 2013 12:09:59 AM maybe its just the cynical side of me coming out, but everything hes talking about seems a little forced for attention, I'm sure he had a rough upbringing... Its just that I watched his response video and he seems more thankful that he got so many video hits then anything... again maybe I'm just that cynical... |

Some women just have no skill at being a mom. Later he'll come to terms with that and let it go but for now he is a teenager and suffers all the drama that goes with that phase. Good luck to him. P.S. Get rid of that wart on your face! |

Sunday, February 17, 2013 4:47:31 PM It sounds like borderline personality mummy has found a scapegoat for all of her woes. I wonder if it's even about that poor lad being gay, or just a convenient excuse for a tantrum? {{{{{hugs to you}}} |

Sunday, February 17, 2013 1:08:35 PM some people are just s hit, and his mum is one of them. I agree with forsquril, cut ties. If a mother is as useless as this, then he is better off without her in his life. Shameful. Hell, I'll adopt him. Move to New Zealand and come and live with me :) |

Sunday, February 17, 2013 10:57:07 AM *continued The one thing that troubles me is that mom would beat him and then go to church the next day. The longer he talked i just knew it would pop up and it did. I think the only way though that society as a whole will have better acceptance and understanding is when it's a universal thing. We have governments telling us that you can't have 'gay marriage' for one reason or another, and I won't even get started on religion. As long as people have a scapegoat to fall back on like 'the bible says it's wrong' or whatever we're never going to move forward. |

Sunday, February 17, 2013 10:54:19 AM ok, Went back and watched the whole thing. Dude just had a poo life and wants his mom's acceptance. Sorry, life's just poo sometimes. He's not going to get what he wants and should just move on. The best thing he could ever do is cut ties with his family. He got beat because he was gay? Fine, some kids get beat because they get in trouble at school, or mommy and daddy drink to much, or any number of causes. Should it happen? Never. I'm thinking he's old enough now to make choices and better his life and that's what he should do. It's ultimately his choice to make but I think he's afraid of ever moving forward without the acceptance of his mother. I hate to say it but growing up there was little he could have done. Most DSS,CPS agencies these days don't do anything anymore. I've experienced the first hand accounts so I know this to be true. He's probably lucky to be alive on many accounts.

Amazing how many 'phobes hear the word "gay" in a stentance and assume the entire video is about that. Even though the description clearly reads "What The Rejection Of A Parent Looks Like" they focus on the "gay" word. What's the matter, does it strike a little to close to home for comfort? |

Sunday, February 17, 2013 9:41:44 AM Who the hell cares? Get over it and yourself! It isn't going to get any easier! Life is hard as it is, being openly gay makes it even harder! Get a grip and quit whining. As the saying out here goes: Are you going to just lay there and cry or are you going to Cowboy up and get back on the Bull? |

Sunday, February 17, 2013 12:57:58 AM Collegebound- ME of course. I will ALAWYS win in a fight between me and my children.... we have a structure here- with ME at the top. Even if they are grown adults ( which they are) they know I am the boss- I taught them nearly everything I know, the last little bit they have to work out on their own, until my bones get too brittle to floor the little buggers. |

Saturday, February 16, 2013 8:19:46 PM the worst thing is this type of rejection at this age will take a really long time to overcome both in a emotional and economic sense. This is why i am not out yet to my parents. This right here is one of my biggest fears. |
