Friday, February 15, 2013 11:00:12 AM I agree with them arresting her for not complying and then not putting her hands on the car when she was told, but there was no need to sweep-kick her when he could have just as easily handcuffed her from the start. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:57:25 AM @handmadebeat, Let me guess, you are one of those 12 year old kids that puts 60 for their age? If you don't listen when a cop tells you to do something, you deserve to be taken down. A cops job is hard enough without idiots thinking they don't have to listen. This woman could have been psyc'ing herself up to shoot at them. No way to tell. If a person is so dense that they can't follow simple rules; take them down. Better safe than sorry. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:48:13 AM I also wonder what California laws are for being on video and being mailed a ticket. I'm sure they have cameras that monitor speed, but is there a system in which a person can be sent a ticket with a still image of them talking on the cellphone from a dashboard camera? |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:46:46 AM In this situation, they CHP officers and the woman were in the wrong. She was breaking the law, didn't pull over, and didn't follow orders. The officers however, shouldn't have pulled someone over in a congested construction area for a minor infraction. I can see their point, early in the video she was swerving over the line and obviously not paying attention; could have been a DUI. They were also too aggressive in my opinion on their take-down. Does this warrant a civil suit judgement; HELL NO! The US is sue happy, if she wasn't a dumbass then it wouldn't have happened. |

This is a tough one. I despise mouthy arrogant women. The kind who think they can do whatever they want because "I'm a girl, you won't hit me!" I also have a burning hatred for the police. Nothing more than an arrogant gang of hypocrites with badges. Although I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her taken down and kneed, It was completely unnecessary. It is bull shart that the charges were dismissed. And B.S. that she won a settlement. The correct scenario would have been if she was simply cuffed, taken to jail, had all the charges stick with out the harsh (but deserved) take down and her resulting settlement. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:35:59 AM I have to agree with Squrlz as well. Not only was she acting strange, but the officers had no idea who or what might have been out of sight in the van. If there had been someone else in the back seat with a weapon, the woman would have been in the way of dealing with that threat. Maybe they did use more force than necessary, but their actions were not totally out of line. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:34:53 AM Cellphone users are the bane of society. These police don't know if she's old, young, pregnant, all they see is someone not complying and that could be a risk to them. Serves her right. On a lighter note McG, that was funny. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:31:04 AM I've seen this hundreds of times....she didn't think the police were after HER, so she was just trying to get out of the way for three minutes. Then when she finally figured it out, she pulled over and just stood there not following directions. As for the takedown, I don't think it was all that necessary. She wasn't aggressive and apparently didn't understand what was happening. Dumb maybe, I don't know. Having been in that situation many times, a deep breath and a little patience goes a long way. On a related note, does this CHP Officer really think it's necessary to make a stop and write a cell phone ticket in heavy traffic, in a construction zone ? Really ? I wouldn't have made that stop. But they're the highway patrol. They have nothing else to do. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:24:42 AM damn she went down quick. she should have the book thrown at her for evading him the way she did and she should face maximum penalties for that however, the cop didn't have to kick her legs out and tackle her. she isn't a crack head with a knife. im not sure what i hate more, aggressive cops or bitches constantly talking on their phones. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:16:52 AM I'm siding with the cops on this one as well. You hear them telling her to "get off the phone" unless she wants a bigger fine, then she speeds up and and weaves her way into traffic... that wasn't a very smart move! When she got out of the minivan they told her to turn around and she just stood there looking like, "I'm a white woman driving a minivan, not a criminal." As for the "kick" you mentioned at 4:17, it's hard to see but she was probably fighting back and he hit her with his knee to make her stop. As for the "she's just woman" comments, have any of you ever tried to restrain someone while they were fighting back? I had to go through training like that in the Marines, never used it in a real-life situation but still, you'd be surprised how much of a fight someone can put up, even if you're double their weight. |

It probably took so long to pull over 'cause she needed time to eat her stash. |

Stupid cow. Didn't pull over. Didn't turn around or follow other instructions. A man would have been tazered or just shot. She should have gotten community service picking up trash, not cash. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 10:02:50 AM She looked like she was trying to get away and was acting strange. Then, when she got out of the car, she wasn't doing what she was told. They had to take her down for their safety. |
