What does that have to do with me or what I wrote?
I neither support nor live in monarchy (although pros and cons of regimes as such are debatable and one might argue that your version of democracy is just as crappy as our democracy, or British monarchy or basically any other regime around the globe) nor do I imply directly or otherwise that I am smarter and certainly not based on political beliefs.

Quite a straw man fallacy you've got going there, by the way.

I simply find it hard to believe that there are people who still support royalty and have the gaul to consider themselves somehow smarter.

@whodat:

Plus, I am not saying that they should do so, for I have no such authority. I'm just suggesting that the global IQ level might rise a bit if people defending kicking pregnant women in the gut are removed from the gene pool per se...

@whodat:

Whilst I do agree the wording might have been chosen better on my side, I simply find it hard to believe that there are people defending cops kicking pregnant women in the gut. Such people are a disgrace.

@McGovern: At last you acknowledge the simple truth. I am indeed all knowing and as a matter of fact I know that it's your time of the month. The only logical explanation of your reaction. :)

I am only saying that if this is the standard behavior of your law enforcement (and one that you as citizens agree with), then something is very very wrong.

Don't waste your time he's European meaning he's all knowing and always right. If you haven't noticed the pattern yet.

Telling someone to "jump off a cliff" is no better than someone saying she deserved it. Why do all the people who speak out against violence threaten others that don't agree with them with violence? That's like the pro-life people who are against the killing of unborn fetuses blowing up an abortion clinic killing the doctors & nurses. Doesn't make much sense, does it?

With all due respect. Should she face some sort of punishment for such idiotic driving? Of course. A fine would be more than enough.

Those of you who say that she deserved it all, if you consent that she deserved a kick in the gut then allow me to say that you are an utter idiot and would do us all a favor if you'd jump off the nearest cliff.

Also, something is very very wrong with your police. I've traveled quite a bit and had a few dealings with the local law enforcement, but yours takes the cake. All the more astonishing that you keep defending such behavior.

Cops are not there to "keep you in line", are you daft? They are there to serve and protect.

The cops could have handled that better. But still, holy beajeezus! That woman should not own a driver's license.

"She won $250K"

After reading this article, it has come to my attention that she actually didn't "win" the $250K. She sued the CHP but before any of the officers involved made their statements and the video was admitted as evidence the CHP Commissioner agreed to settle.

Oh my god. I just remembered the funniest thing from that job. My boss was a complete ass. One day he decided to show me how to put the connecter on a hose (something I had done thousands of times). He put the connecter into the spinning machine and put the hose into it and pressed the foot petal. Once the fitting was tight the reinforcement cable in the hose caught his pants by the crotch and started spinning him towards the machine. He said something like, "Oh my, something is wrong here" as it pulled him closer.

she said
"I'd never seen a gun for real before," Gaglione said later. "I just froze. I was scared they'd shoot me."

cop said
In their report, the officers said the incident had escalated because the woman had ignored their orders and appeared to raise her arms in an aggressive manner after hopping out of the van.

When I was 19 I was working in a warehouse putting together hydraulic hoses by hand. It was a horrible job. I hope that is what brought on the following horrible thought because I have never had an evil thought like this since. I had glued a quarter to the floor and this really pretty woman from the office bent down to pick it up. It took a pit of work to get down because she was pregnant. When she stood up this voice in my head said, punch her in the stomach. Out loud I said, holy crap! We were both embarrassed but by different things.

Reckless driving in front of a police car, swerving off the road when making a lane changes, talking on the phone, cutting all the way across traffic, refusing to stop when the police have their lights on right behind you and have been behind you for a while. Then on top of all that not cooperating to toss the keys out as told to do, nor following commands once out of the car. This idiot did pretty much everything you are not supposed to do, and especially not in front of a cop. She deserved to be treated the way she was. If you don't follow a cops commands when a gun is pointed at you then you have to be expecting they will make you cooperate by force.

And what do we do? We reward this idiot with $250,000? That waste of space shouldn't be allowed to drive but we put her back on the road and with money in her pocket.

I don't usually side with the cops, but in this case I do. The sue happy society we live in to reward dumbasses is ridiculous.

I'm not saying there aren't a few tossers in the UK police service, particularly in the Met. However, from personal observation, it is a minority of tossers within a majority of good people doing a difficult job in the UK. As opposed to the situation in the US, where it seems to be a few good people amongst a majority of pathetic bullies that are regularly caught breaking the law and abusing citizen's rights, but are rarely punished for what they do.

MacGuffin, I understand your confusion. The police are not there to "protect the public". They are there to keep the peace. Right/wrong... justice... those are for the courts to worry about. All the cops care is that you toe the line. Do NOT make a disturbance, do not step out of line.

Their job is to keep you in line.

You don't need to tell me about the Police, bud - I worked in the police service, remember? I can only assure you that it's *your* police that are there to keep you in line. Ours exist to serve, and they do it by consent. They don't even have guns, because they don't go around antagonising people.

he gets in a kick to the stomach at 4:20 ish. WHAT THE drat IS WRONG WITH AMERICAN POLICE? how does one woman, pregnant, not really doing anything that would warrent more than a polite, "talking on your cellphone while driving it not a good idea mam, have a nice day and drive safe" turn into someone forceably knocked down, hog tided and kicked in the stomach? yet another outward sign that your country is F UCKED up.

@piperfawn

*treat

So your point is you're against the action of these police because they're from the US and violent but cops from the UK beating people over the skull with batons is A OK!
