Auburnjunky: A symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, scored almost always for orchestra.
Orchestra. Symphony. Strings.
The London Symphony Orchestra did a good rendition of this a while ago on an album called 'Classic Rock'. |

I wouldn't say I'm an expert on symphonic music, or any other music, but I do have a discerning ear. Chalk it up to years of choir classes. |

Some parts were brilliantly done, but there was something funky going on in the horns section, and the trumpet hit a couple of sour notes during his solo. The viola seemed to be having timing issues, which I think lends to your thinking she was almost out of tune, Zed68. Again, parts of this were brilliant, but the inconsistencies kept me from enjoying it fully. |

@Squrlz4Sale : I'd prefer a pure orchesta version too, but this one was quite lame to my ears, and the violin part... well... almost out of tune. |

@Zed: While there's no denying the excellence of the LSO, for my tastes the electric guitar, vocals, and drum kit kind of take away from the classical music experience. I actually prefer this arrangement with no rock instruments or vocals. |
