Rugby and golf are NOT replacing wrestling. This decision affects the 2020 Olympics, and wrestling, rugby, and golf will all appear together in the 2016 Olympics. The decision on what sport will replace wrestling will come in a few months at another meeting of the IOC. I can't recall the list of potential replacements off the top of my head, but I do know that wrestling will actually be on that list too, which means there's an outside chance it will be put back in. That's thought to be unlikely because it was JUST taken out, but with all the backlash, I wouldn't be surprised. |

Wrestling was in the Olympics since 708 BC. If the recent homophobic jokes influenced this decision, then you might as well ban gingers and jews too.
Bunch of old rich guys get rid of wrestling but bring in golf... I call shenanigans.
And while they are at it, bring back Pankration! |

1896 huh.... If im not mistaken it was one of the origional greek events during the roman empire... Shotput, discus, javelin, sprinting and greco roman wrestling. Irate. |
