Meh I wouldn't consider the war of 1812 a loss consider 1. We still exsist and 2. After our trade ship were no longer blockaided and not being forced into the Brithish navy. But tell yourself whatever you'd like to stem the butthurt.

MacGuffin , the term Yankee Doodle, Yankee or Yank was an insulting British term for Americans since the mid 1700's.

So when you use it in conjunction with arguments that show contempt and disrespect for our country, we take it as the insult it is.

Perhaps you should learn what a word means before you use it.

Xanax definitely can do that.. When i was eating those i constantly stole stuff, stupid poo that i didn't need.. Hell, one of my bros saw a car with keys on the lock (yes, ancient times..), outside video rental as someone was only returning tapes.. He just jumped in and sped away, drove to his apartment, which was about 600m and leave the car. He would never do that kind of thing solber, two xanax later and grand theft auto..

It's one of the hardest drugs to come off, the withdrawals are horrendous, it's highly addictive, it affects your morals and makes you do really really stupid poo. I can think of only one drug that alters your ethics/moral more and that's heroin.

After seeing the original video

1) Xanax is not responsible for this.

2) The judge was the one to kurtly dismiss her - not the other way around. He said "Bye-bye" as if $5,000.00 of her wealth was something to be sneezed at, when if he were acting in the elevated judicial fashion which he assumes in episode two, his dismissal could have been something to the effective of "thank you miss Soto, you're dismissed."

Just because she's the one in an orange jump-suit doesn't make $5,000.00 worth any less.

She doesn't look too sincere. She should still get those 30 days.

Judges suck. It's a job that attracts power-hungry, narcissistic, control freak a-holes that like to boss people around and 'judge' them.

Man, clearly it's time for some new content. Every active thread on here has gone waaaaaaaaaay off topic.

I saw this on the news when it happened, my family thought she deserved it b/c she was disrespective to the judge, she should serve the 30 days for criminal content the judge gave her

@Carmium: Please feel free to invade us at your earliest convenience, provided you institute national health care similar to your own model. I and countless other Americans held hostage to the healthcare-for-profit racket will thank you.

(How's that for kicking a hornet's nest?)

We in Canada like to remember that the US invaded our fledgling country (known as Upper and Lower Canada back then) and that a mix of British colonial soldiers, Canadian settlers, and native tribes kicked, as you say, US butt. It was the 100th anniversary last year, and the federal government shamelessly funded TV ads and printed postage stamps to remind people of how >ahem< "we" won the war.

Since when is a 30 day sentence for contempt of court a felony? A felony is a year or more in state prison. His power trip was doubling her bond for saying "adios". Flipping off a judge and verbally insulting him is just begging for contempt of court. Giving her 30 day sentence and then taking it back when she apologises is about what you can expect.

So the judge says "bye bye" like she's 5 and she answers "adios" with a smile and the judge goes on a powertrip ?

Don't get me wrong that girl is stupid for insulting afterwards but that judge is just immature.

"how many wars has your country won against the US"

US faught UK twice. The score is tied 1 to 1.
US wins revolutionary war but
UK kicked US butt in war of 1812. Remember that little thing about burning the capital to the ground?

More like "I'm sorry I'm being punished."
Judge should have left with the full 30 days.
Daddy's little princess obviously hasn't ever had
to live with the consequences of her actions bfoe
or she never would have flipped a judge off in
the first place.

Have to agree. And it's her solicitor that apologises anyway to keep his stats up.

is it illegal to say 'adios' to a judge and flip him off after raising your bond 100% for doing so?

@MacGuffin...how many wars has your country won against the US? Now go back to your little hole and talk on another internet site where you can pretend your bigger than everyone else. I think the Sesame Street forums are accepting new members.

"...but given how common an occurrence it is in the US you guys have pretty much run out of options: you'd never have enough workers if you were to exclude anyone that'd served a jail sentence from being employed"

MacGuffin: what industry are you thinking of? An arrest record is an automatic disqualification for the financial sector I work in. If your resume isn't thrown out, it is at the bottom of the pile. 1/3 of Americans have an arrest record (from a quick Google search). Approx. 10% of American's have graduate degrees, 30% have Bachelor's degrees. Most of the people I work with have graduate degrees (or a Bachelor's at the very least). I would guess that the vast majority of the 1/3 with arrest records are the uneducated. I think we have plenty of law abiding citizens to fill our employment needs. Your perception of America is skewed. I blame the Kardashians and Honey Boo Boo.

@srqlz: Well if you agree with me start doing something about it, for Christ's sake. Your country's a mess, dude. Mine is too. But at least we seem to know it, and don't hold our self-serving politicians and courts up as examples of how to behave as human beings. When future generations look back at this point in history they're going to be as ashamed of us as this generation is of the Vietnam War or Britain's brutal suppression of the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya. Our generation is a disgrace to humanity. The least we can do is look in the mirror and admit it once in a while.

@L_H: Sorry, I honestly don't get what you were trying to say there. This is an American website, discussing the actions of an American judge in an American court. That's why I used the word "Yanks". It's what we Brits call Americans. It's not intended to be a derogatory term any more than "Brit" is.
