I gotta agree with gerry on this one. Well mostly. I agree with all the points gerry made, but...He did say he was going to start killing people. And he did post it online. Just a bit too far. I'm not sure were the line should be set, but I think this guy just inched over it by posting this on youtube. On the other hand there is such a thing as free speech, and we don't want to give the gov'ment an easy excuse to take our rights. |

Saturday, February 09, 2013 10:26:14 AM @Crakjak: It seems to me that if responsible gun owners want to preserve their existing rights, they should be falling over each other to condemn Mr. Yeager for his irresponsible rant and not defending him. |

Saturday, February 09, 2013 10:17:56 AM "You think the gov'ment should take away peoples rights anytime someone spouts off? Anytime they say something you or the gov'ment don't approve of?" He said: "If it goes one inch further, I'm going to start killing people." Imagine a scenario in which this guy doesn't have his permits taken away and actually does snap and kill people, like the ex-LAPD officer is doing now. People would look at this video and ask their government why they didn't take action. What if one of his 62,000+ subscribers listens to this and starts killing people? As the old saying goes, you have freedom of speech but you can't scream fire in a crowded theater. |

Saturday, February 09, 2013 10:14:18 AM @Gerry: Hmmmmm. I see your points but have to disagree. Anytime someone with a lot of guns broadcasts a message that he's on the verge of "happily" killing people with those guns, for whatever reason, I think it's time for the authorities to step in and remove those guns. I know if this guy was a neighbor of mine and I'd seen this diatribe of his, I would've wanted them to. Perhaps this guy misspoke in a moment of idiocy. But words have consequences, especially words like these. |

"...and you think there's a problem in revoking his permits? Shame on you, man. That's a seriously disappointing attitude." First of all, the guy's stupid & mouthed off in an idiotic way. But yep I do have a problem with taking away his permits. His "threats" while stupidly put, were no worse really than anyone else who says "There should be another revolution". People get hurt in revolutions, but if you don't specifically point that out it's okay and bad if you do point that out. In essence he said "We shold fight back against the government. I am prepared to fight" You think the gov'ment should take away peoples rights anytime someone spouts off? Anytime they say something you or the gov'ment don't approve of? THAT is a seriously disapointing attitude. |

Saturday, February 09, 2013 8:03:01 AM "BS, It's not paranoia if they are actually out to get you. No one should be able to take your God given rights away. Once a government starts taking rights away, they won't stop. That's how tyranny starts and I wouldn't blame him for upholding his rights." It clearly is paranoia. The guy is obviously ignorant. He said they were going to use executive privilege to bypass Congress on the Assault Weapons Ban, which is not at all what the situation is. It's one thing to try to defend your freedoms, but he's little more than a conspiracy nut. It's pretty sad that you're defending a guy who reacted to misinformation by threatening to kill people. |

Saturday, February 09, 2013 2:46:04 AM Ok after I made a comment here I decided to check this guy out. I see no military service record on his web site. A lot of police jobs and private security jobs in Iraq and military training jobs which he left due to problems or got fired from. Dirty Harry wanabe, as someone said. Yes his life revolves around guns and being a bad ass. A defiantly future paranoid mass murderer in the making. |

Saturday, February 09, 2013 1:41:49 AM Not surprised by this. Remember people kill guns don't. Free speech is great and I would fight for that right always, but this is just plain stupidity. |

Friday, February 08, 2013 9:23:06 PM Gerry - you have a bigger problem with a government revoking the permits of someone who's publicly threatening to kill people than you do with the person making the threats? So far as I can find, he wasn't given a jail sentence, he wasn't submitted to a supervision order - he just got told off and had his gun permits revoked. This is a man who said he's willing to kill just because he might have to fill in a bit more paperwork to get more guns (because lets face it - that's really all any new gun control measures are likely to mean in practise), and you think there's a problem in revoking his permits? Shame on you, man. That's a seriously disappointing attitude. |

"His permits were almost immediately revoked and he has already submitted a formal apology." I have a bigger problem with that than the idiotic comments he made. So, if you say {in essence} "if the government pushes me too far I will fight back" then they can take away your permits? The gov'ment can herass you into retracting your comments? Isn't there another guarantee about free speach? Nothing says it has to be intelligent speach. For the record, If the gov'ment pushes me too far I WILL FIGHT BACK. Now, take away my permit. See if that gets rid of the guns you don't know about. {did I say that out loud?} D'OH! |

Friday, February 08, 2013 6:42:45 PM Gotcha! All you Dirty Harry wannabees that spout off and try to hide behind some 200+ year old musket law are a joke. This "normal" guy that you all profess to be is finally showing your true colours. It's not about losing your rights at all, you just don't want to lose the chance to kill people. |

Friday, February 08, 2013 2:53:01 PM I think the only guns citizens should be allowed to have are the ones that were around when the bill of rights was written. Seems fair. No one can argue that your rights are taken away. You want a gun powder rifle, be my guest. |

Friday, February 08, 2013 1:47:05 PM @FoolsPrussia: I'm glad you posted the link to the original video. And I'm relieved to hear this crackpot had his permits revoked. I'm still trying to figure out where I stand on gun control. Both sides have valid points, and what's at stake either way is critical: either the lives of innocents or the right of citizens. But regarding this video in particular: One problem I have with allowing individuals to collect military-style guns is that it increases delusional thinking. Guns can be a powerful narcotic for those with paramilitary fantasies. A guy like this with no guns walks around muttering. A guy like this who spends years building up a collection of weapons and who spends his free time fondling his ammunition gets more and more delusional, to the point that he posts a video proclaiming that if things change "just one inch further" he's going to be "happy" to "start killing people." My two cents. |

Friday, February 08, 2013 11:23:52 AM Not only did you guys take almost a full month to post this video after I submitted it, you gave him time to edit the worst part out. Here is the rest, where he says he's going to start killing people. |
