Thursday, January 31, 2013 6:42:36 PM Ferdyfred: Andy Frost recently built Red Victor 3. It's about 40% more powerful than Red Victor 2. It's also road-legal, like the previous versions. I imagine that driving a 3000 bhp car on the road requires careful caution, but it's perfectly legal and he has done it (there's a video of him driving it to town to go shopping). It's the fastest-accelerating street-legal car, but he's still working on it because there's always room for more. Incidentally, the first car you show is Red Victor 3. |

Thursday, January 31, 2013 9:07:49 AM he staes that they are just learning that problem solving real life situations is a great way to learn .....did he not, as did every other person who finished school and went out to work, not learn this when he started his first job. Most of what is taught in school is not transferable into your day to day duties on the job. The stuff that is taught in school that is transferable and is more practical is more geared to teaching you how to think, how to solve. The problem is though, there are not enough programs in high schools that do this |

Wednesday, January 30, 2013 8:48:43 PM Also, 8KWh will get you ~25 miles, maybe as much as 40 with good aerodymanics and recharging on the go with regenerative braking, assuming you drive very conservatively. So it's a fast-looking diesel car that could do a couple of laps at speed and gives good fuel economy if driven carefully. It's very good for a school project, but it's not really a racing car or a supercar. |

Wednesday, January 30, 2013 8:43:09 PM Considering that there are no performance specs online apart from fuel economy and that their website lists a "supercar" with 350hp and weighing 2530lbs (i.e. not a supercar), I'm not convinced that this is anything more than a moderately fast hybrid with moderately decent handling that looks like a racing car. |
