Barris built 2 batmobiles. 1 for glamour shots {this is the one he kept and sold at auction} the other was bought up in private display years ago. THIS one traveled. I've seen it, last year at the auto show. Wondered why it wasn't there this year. Also, there are a number of copies out there. One copy has the autographs of all the original stars and villains on the dashboard to give it more value. I also like the batboat and batcycle. I wish I could find Batgirls cycle. It's awesome. |

Sunday, January 20, 2013 10:48:48 AM @Runemang: Articles of clothing not half as iconic or recognizable as the batmobile have gone for 250k. $4.2 is on par with the history on that vehicle. |

Dear God, don't let it be Jay Leno who bought it! I want whoever ownes it now to continue sending it out to autoshows around the country so that many people can enjoy it. Guys like Leno just stick them in a warehouse/garage and no one sees it. As for the price....if I were rich I'd have been there bidding and I'd go higher thant 4.2 |

Sunday, January 20, 2013 10:20:04 AM I can appreciate the nostalgic/historic value of this car, but even so, $4.2M seems a bit steep. If I had to have guessed I would have estimated it would've gone for more like $250k. |

Sunday, January 20, 2013 10:08:51 AM wow, I don't think I'd go higher than 4.2k (if I couldn't resell it), that car is ugly. There is some rich mofos out there. |
