Halfpint: Really, more than 5 hours? So, you could say the same about if someone spends that long watching football or hockey in a week as well. 5 hours is virtually no time at all.
As for "exploring the real world," I've done that, there's nothing out there. Got my wife, kids and job. My "me time" goes to gaming, as there is nothing else to do around here. |

Not the BEST argument, but it's nice. The best argument is that people who's actions are controlled by things like entertainment probably should not be walking the streets. Stop punishing the sane people and start helping the mentally unstable.
On a side note the only violence I ever witnessed caused by a video game was directed at a game controller. On the other hand I have witnessed plenty of violence caused by people watching sports. Why are we not trying to ban sports or at least make sure kids don't watch them? |

This was my first thought.
I agree with a lot of the comments below, a lot of gamers have no life outside of the games. This kid has an excuse, they don't. If you spend more than 20 hours a week gaming, you really should consider exploring the real world sometime. |

I rocked star wars galaxies. I was a Teras Kasi master, supreme tank, and big game hunter extraordinaire . I could solo a kryat dragon ancient and i made a killing selling the resultant flawless pearls. It took me a year to level my character to the point I could solo the most difficult animal in the game.
When Sony nerfed the game and changed the combat system, it ruined something for me. The game died. I know what this kid is saying. |
