Friday, January 18, 2013 8:47:53 AM sorry, but i'm siding with this guy here. You mean the guy who was shot and killed in a city with the toughest gun control laws in the country? |

Friday, January 18, 2013 7:50:23 AM Florida law, if you have a CCL and are armed - you have to notify the cop immediately. It's for your protection and the cops. This guy didn't say anything and the cop happened to just notice he was packing heat.. that's a pretty scary situation. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 7:46:54 AM "He had a permit but didn't tell me he had a permit". The citizen said "I have a permit" he said "I don't care if you have a permit". I can understand him being anxious about the dude stepping out reaching into his truck, but as the officer in charge of the situation he should have instructed him to remain in the vehicle. This situation was handled poorly by both parties. Have to side with the guy in this situation, due to the officer being negligent. |

Looking at his wife, I think maybe he was hoping the cop would shoot him. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 6:44:09 AM Not saying the cop is right but by law the person should have notified the cop he had a gun immediately before doing anything else |

Friday, January 18, 2013 5:41:55 AM DinVen, STFU. You don't have guns in your country, that is your problem, don't try to impose your beliefs on our country. Stay out of it. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 2:03:44 AM i think the first thing you are supposed to do is inform any law enforcement officer that you are armed and have a permit. I think that's the first thing they teach you in the class you have to take to get your permit to carry. So. by not informing the policeman that he was armed was his 3rd mistake in the video... |

Friday, January 18, 2013 1:45:15 AM The cop seems rather unprofessional. I'm surprised he didn't beat the fat lady until she sang. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 11:35:20 PM That cop needs to go to prison for felony armed criminal action. The guy should also sue the county so hard that they have to double their property taxes. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 10:05:03 PM When a cop pulls you over you stay put until asked to leave your vehicle. It is all yes sir, no sir. You don't burst out of your car like a drunken hunter. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 9:04:38 PM I start to love Indiana more and more each day. We're not a Must Inform state, AND we can open carry so no stupid accidental revealing can result in an arrest or anything of the sort (given you're carrying your License To Carry Handgun). Must Inform just means if you have any sort of interaction with a Law Enforcement Officer, you must inform him you're carrying immediately, however if asked, you still must inform and present your gun license and driver's license in non-"must inform" states. Though, most cops know the second they pull you over from your plates, and will ask. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 9:01:09 PM creamk, if uniforms make shooting someone okay, don't we simply step from the "wild west" into the warsaw ghetto? |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 9:00:11 PM People walk around carrying guns every day. I do. I think the officer was overzealous, and could have accomplished what he needed to another way. Drawing his weapon, sure....Prone the guy out and threaten him..not so much. In his defense, citizens all know who the police are during traffic stops....the police have no idea who the person is. The officer had the duty and obligation to determine if the gun was legally possessed, and to make sure he won't get shot. He was safe, but over the top. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 8:47:36 PM Should've been shot. Idiots carrying guns like it's wild west, that should be illegal as hell. I would not feel safe at all if i had people walking around carrying guns like it's nothing. Appalling. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 8:45:47 PM @SilverThread I totally agree. It's not "the duty" of a citizen to inform a cop of things that aren't asked. Granted it would be a good idea! To mention you've got a firearm, that's true. But it's not YOUR job. @ruiner2000 is correct: do NOT hop out without being asked. Do NOT make sudden moves or do weird stuff in front of a cop! Just try to stay calm and listen to orders, should work out OK. This cop is a PIG! Swearing? Threatening violence? Making stuff up to "justify" his actions? What a disgrace... |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 8:15:23 PM I wonder what the NRA's stance is on this... Can't go anti-cop, can't go against the legit carrier. |
