There are no depths to which you will not sink, are there?

Why? What do you care about 6 million disarmed Jews?

Cops will always react this way to a gun. The one day they don't is the day they get shot. Always inform the office immediately that you're in possession of a firearm and where it's located.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you could tell the difference between a criminal and a law abiding citizen just by looking at them.

@ozmose where are you from because here in fl. we do not have to infom the cops i have put the state law up more then once to prove this, in the video the cop never asked if the guy was armed so by fl s. 790.06(1) must display both the license and proper identification upon DEMAND by a law enforcement officer

@stunmi

That's wrong.
I have my carry permit. The very first thing you're supposed to do when you get pulled over, is to tell the cop you have a permit and that you are carrying a handgun, as well as the location of the gun. The cop was in the right here.

if Obama takes away all your guns you believe he is going to put the Gestapo and SS in charge of America?

Clearly that would be ridiculous. The Gestapo is *already* in charge of America.

fl s. 790.06(1) The licensee must carry the license, together with valid identification, at all times in which the licensee is in actual possession of a concealed weapon or firearm and must display both the license and proper identification upon demand by a law enforcement officer. Violations of the provisions of this subsection shall constitute a noncriminal violation with a penalty of $25, payable to the clerk of the court, THE COP NEVER ASKED IF HE HAD ANY WEAPONS, so the guy didnt have to tell him he did

the cop needs to be fired. he clearly doesn't know how to perform his job properly and has a loose cannon overreaction temper. it isn't going to be long before this cop just goes ahead and shoots someone without the courtesy of threats. one small mistake on the CC guys part (not wearing a longer shirt to 100% hide it) and the cop flips out. small fine or citizen, and fire the cop or at least never have him back on the streets again

I don't know how well you guys think you know florida law, but you are not required to tell anyone including officers that you have a concealed weapon unless requested to. -> BUT <- as a courtesy, you tell an officer that you have a CWP permit and that you do have a firearm on you. When you say this, the officer will always tell you to get out of the car, hands on the car, and remove the weapon from you. But he will respect the fact that you let him know that he was in control of the situation and your respect for him/her.

OldOllie, sorry dude, I'm not trying to keep singling you out but can't you guys see? Gun control is not NO guns.

Of course, you're right. After Hitler instituted gun control in Germany, the Gestapo and the SS still had plenty of guns.

The Jews...not so much.

Does holster = firearm? The video shows that the officer did not see a gun.

kunter is right, that guy should have immediately notified the officer that he has a concealed weapon, that's what you are supposed to do.

Didn't watch the whole thing...

The man is required to notify the officer immediately that he has a CCP. It should be the first thing out of his mouth while he is handing the officer his drivere's license AND concealed carry permit.

some cops thing only they have the right to have a gun.. this cop may have been correct, slighty... but went about it the wrong way. the white trash tard that had the CCweapon should have kept his mouth shut, AND.. stayed in the van. i mean really, who gets out of their car when they get pulled over.. people need to think.

In Vermont you can carry it on your hip. One of the last real states.

>>>And, let's see if I remember this correctly, the gun freaks usual claim is that the ability to carry a gun *protects* them against abuse by the authorities?<<<

Then you have grossly over simplified their argument.

I do not know if one can be arrested for unconcealing a concealed weapon. (Seems like it depends on the state.) But it does seem that the cop had a reason to get the situation in hand. On the other hand AFTER the situation was in hand, the permit was found, and noting that as far as I could see all the officers instructions were followed it would have made sense to me to write the ticket for what ever he was pulled over for in the first place and then let them go on their way.

As for the unconcealing of the weapon, not to be to picky (well yeah just to be picky), I never saw the weapon, the holster yes the weapon no. So could one not argue that it was still concealed?

Not all states have a requirement to notifiy law, a link between vehicle registrations and pistol permits, or a mandate that a gun be completely concealed at all times.
I've been in that situation many times, and drawing reduces reation time......there's nothing wrong with telling the person that if his hand goes toward the gun he's gonna get shot...because that woulde justified......this, and every other situation comes down to reasonableness......staying calm, controlled, and solving the problem at hand......if they take it up a notch, they get what they get.
This officer heightened the level on his own...As for the charges, I have no idea...it's not in NY.

Sounds like the officer was having a bad day and reacted a little over the top.

This is why you should pull over, turn off your radio, roll down your window, and keep your hands up on the steering wheel. When the officer comes up, let him/her know if you have a permit and any weapons. When asked for your ID or vehicle paperwork, announce to the officer where it is before reaching for it. Just leaning over and rummaging through your glove compartment can cause unnecessary alarm.

OldOllie, sorry dude, I'm not trying to keep singling you out but can't you guys see? Gun control is not NO guns. Ergo, Chapman wouldn't have had a gun and Lennon would probably still be alive.

The violation based on the weapon remaingin concealed is B.S.

The fact that the guy failed to notify the officer immediately and proceeded to reach near his firearm is what earned the officer's response.

This guy has no business having a CCW permit if he is not going to comply with the terms of the permit.

I was stopped by Ohio State patrol yesterday while armed. The office knew I had a CCW before he turned his lights on to stop me. I followed protocol and was THANKED by the officer for following the law.

This kind of crap does not need to happen. It makes the rest of us look bad.

Final Verdict: Officer wins. Dumbass who failed to follow the agreement he sigend to get hsi permit, Fail.
