Thursday, January 17, 2013 6:05:47 PM @carmium: TV, movies and the internet aren't in the US Constitution either, but the 1st Amendment still applies, eh? @Gauddith: You don't think owning one is required? You're FREE to NOT own one! What a nice country you live in! Oh, you don't want your neighbors to own one either? You also don't want people who disagree with you to be able to speak? Not nice at all... |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 5:57:23 PM @5Cats Sorry, what? I think owning a needlessly overpowered gun is stupid and now I'm against gun ownership? You don't need a rifle to defend yourself from a psychopath, You need a brain. And this isn't freedom of speech, like I said, it's harassment. It's also misleading. They lied about their cause so they could harras these people without being arrested. How do I put this, someone tells the world you're gay, you don't go around asking them to put a sign in their yard saying they are straight. If you did that you'd make yourself out to be an ass, and only hurt your own cause. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 5:54:19 PM I find this second amendment crap hilarious. The constitution says because a militia is a good idea, people should have the right to own guns. Right: a muzzle-loading 2-shot-a-minute flintlock to take to militia drills or fight off invading, oh, I dunno, Canadians or something. And people figure that restrictions on packing concealed 9mm automatics and shooting off submachine guns in the back yard is an assault on liberty. What next? Making shooting people you don't like illegal is an attack on freedom of expression? |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 5:41:24 PM @Gauddith: You missed the part where these "journalists" published the names & addresses of LEGAL gun owners. Sure it's "not illegal" to publish that, but then again it's not very ethical. It IS PERFECTLY legal to knock on someone's door and ask if they'd like a sign put on their lawn. That's why the cops didn't arrest them, eh? So you're essentially against the 1st and 2nd Amendments? Nice to know... @Shelworth: Exactly! |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 5:25:06 PM Too bad this is harassment, and people who do these kinds of things really make an ass out of every 'law abiding citizen'. It's hard to believe there are sensible gun owners out there when they go around thinking something like this is an appropriate way to make a point, at that point they come off as bitter. God forbid they "take away" your useless rifle. Just get a revolver and suck it up. Jeesh. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 4:33:33 PM Don't waste your time. This is just another James O'Keefe spin on reality. There is no Citizens Against Senseless Violence. I should have looked first before commenting. The "Citizens Against Senseless Violence" in the opening did not seam real. There really is not a scummier deceptive form of journalism as is the piece of sh*t that is James O'Keefe. Conservatives sure eat his deceptively edited videos up though. There is a name for what he does. I can't think of it right now. What he does is push the answer he wants to get into the questions. It takes a lot of people before he can find people stupid enough to go along with his idiocy. Then he edits out parts where he is pushing, and edits in things that steer you towards a different mind frame like he did in the beginning of this video. He is scum. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 4:31:11 PM What a bunch of hypocrites. When they get what they want, every last one of us will have the equivalent of a gun free sign on our lawn. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 4:28:08 PM Ridiculous, would those in favour of a "free for all" gun ownership/use policy be happy to list the contents of their home and hang it on their gate post? As has been said, very few people are asking for a "gun free" US...you're too far gone to try and achieve that. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 4:18:33 PM I love it how pro gun control is "we need to ban assault weapons", and how anti gun control is "WE NEED TO NAME AND SHAME GUN CONTROL ADVOCATES 'CUZ THEY'RE TAKIN' ALL OUR GUNS HURRR". |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 3:54:06 PM Gun control=people control. "Before a standing army can rule the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States." -Noah Webster, 1787 |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 3:47:40 PM The 'take all the guns away from citizens' crowd is just as nuts and extreme as the 'look at all the other contributing factors to gun violence just don't look at guns' crowd. Remove the extremes from both sides of the picture and congress would probably come up with a pretty decent solution or at least have a good start. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 3:45:50 PM See, the lunacy here is that only a very few are asking for a gun ban. The president isn't asking for one, no senator or congressman is asking for one (that I know of), and there's not going to be one. What most all gun control advocates (as their name implies) are asking for is some very reasonable controls that many gun owners actually agree to. Just because the NRA used to be interested in protecting the rights of gun owners and is now interested in protecting gun manufacturers and their profits doesn't mean you have to follow them. Most people on both sides of the issue are reasonable but stuff like this paints everyone out to be radical idiots. It does no one any good. |

Thursday, January 17, 2013 3:09:42 PM Maybe because there is a lot of people with legal guns who would see it as a target? Not just general criminals, but people who don't like them or even just right wing nuts trying to make a point. I could see quite a few IAB members who would want to rob them at gun point to prove why guns are needed to be safe. Their logic is: "If a man buys a gun at walmart, then uses it to shoot a bigger and stronger guy who slepted with someone he wanted... then the only way for the bigger and stronger guy to be safe is to carry round a gun and shoot the other guy first, channeling the power of Clint Eastwood." Then they put out a house fire with a flamethrower or something... |
