The whole "shaking hands is to show that you are unarmed" is not true. People have been shaking hands all over the world for thousands of years.
It seems to be something humans instinctively do to socialize. Proof of this is that when French film makers met a previously totally isolated tribe, the tripe shook hands with them to prove that they weren't hostile. |
