I think this is unfairly snarky. It's meant as an alternative to gastric bypass for people who are extremely obese.
And Dean Kamen may be known for the Segway, but his best invention is the Slingshot, which is a low cost water purification system that will save many lives in poor parts of the world. |

Wouldn't you just feel awfully hungry the moment you had -uh- drained? That's the trick with bypass surgery; they reduce the stomach as well and you feel full with very small amounts of food. This idea sounds pointless. |

This reminds me of this story I read that I can't remember the name of for the life of me. Basically it spoke of the wealthy class practicing puking in order to be able to consume more food even though they didn't need it. It's so damn wasteful and sad. |
