Gun advocates are hardly the only tin foil hat lovers around.

sounds just like a criminal minds episode.. sounds like a much more logical motive to me than just some guy being angry

as to gun ownership, most civilian owners are hunters, sportsmen, so on. i live in a tight block apartment complex and own 2 guns myself, both safely stored away in a locked safe. until recently i had absolutely no idea that the old man living next door is in fact too a gun owner, and that after living here for 4 years and many casual conversations.
the fact is most civilian gun owners are everyday people with a hobby who lead everyday lives. some people like to go play football, some like to go practice martial arts, so on. not everyone has the same hobbies and you can't openly go finger pointing saying "that persons a terrible monster!" just for enjoying something you might not. also we gun owners do not support these sorts of shootings, wars, murder, so on, those things are criminal and pretty damned low on the moral scale. however, we also do not like being rammed in the same mixed bag with them or being blamed for their actions. think who you´re actually o

looking deeper at world events and not simply grabbing at the surface value is a good thing, and though i do disagree with this man's opinion, he is entitled to it. that is his right and i respect it as that.

You'll see more of this tin foil hattery on the news though it helps paint gun owners.

I see a lot of character assassination of the professor. I don't see any directly provided information to counter his claim.

Looking at the interview at 4:33, I agree her behavior feels odd but, if I were looking at it cold, I'd say she seems a little medicated.

That's not right for them to do that to him. Who cares what he thinks. Don't publicly try to get a nation to despise him. Not cool.

So, a couple of guys from the tinfoil-hat brigade float an idiotic conspiracy theory, and the liberal media uses that to slander 49% of the country, right? Where were they when Ward Churchill was committing blatant academic fraud and spewing his verbal vomit at a taxpayer-funded university? As I recall, most of them were defending his right of academic freedom and his status as a tenured professor.

And where's the outrage at the government for ACTUALLY concocting and executing a scheme that resulted in HUNDREDS of murders just so they would have an excuse to violate the 2nd amendment rights of law-abiding Americans? Can you say "Fast and Furious?"

I've never seen AC before. But this is really weird, it's just a series of monologues. Is that supposed to make me believe anything he says?

I think Cooper is right to call out this idiot, as an idiot, but I also think it is okay for this idiot to write and say what he wants, even as a prof at a state university. Ultimately, Cooper did exactly what he said he didn't want to do, and gave this guy the attention he wanted.

For me, I cannot understand how anyone can oppose reasonable gun control. We place reasonable limits on speech, on voting rights, etc. But, if you mention limiting gun rights... people go crazy.

Oh, and before all of you try to eat me for lunch - note that I didn't say anything in there about registering your guns, or limiting your ammo, or anything else.

What I am talking about shines the spotlight on the owner, and not the weapons. I don't care if you have 2 or 20,000 - qualify yourself as responsible and more power to you.

And yes - I am qualified, from pea shooters up to (thanks to our government) 20MM depleted uranium rounds. But that doesn't mean I think that just *anybody* should have a gun.

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with *responsible* gun control laws. Note - I said responsible - not knee-jerk reactionary laws put in place because of a tragedy.

I am all for freedom, including for firearms - but if you are a responsible gun owner, then you should be willing to prove that you are safe (through courses, certifications, etc. including refresher courses on a preset interval basis), and sane (through background checks including checking for mental health issues and/or hospital stays).

I read so many screaming that the gov't doesn't limit your ability to own or drive a car - it's a weapon - but they do. You have to have a license, insurance and be responsible and get it renewed.

If you can provide proof that you are big boy enough to have all those guns and ammo, more power to you. If you can't (or won't), go back to your Legos and Lincoln Logs and come back when you grow up.

The more they push for gun control, the more I want to go out & buy a gun. I've had guns in the past, but don't currently have one.

Maybe the NRA is staging these shootings to increase sales.

Or, what Sandy Hook staged to increase gun sells?

I've not seen much gun control come from this shooting yet, but I have seen a 350% boost in gun sales. I've seen AR-15 lower receivers that used to cost $200-$250 start selling for $800-$1,000.

I've seen a lot more growth in selling of guns than I have in the prevention of them.

Anything's possible in regards to the covert dealings and doings of any government, but people want to see conspiracy and mystery behind everything. take a look at every large scale disaster or tragedy in the last 100 years and you'll find some sort of alternate theory.
I'm a firm believer in the principles of Occam's Razor though, The simplest explanation is usually the truest. why is it less possible that A disturbed individual was capable of this than a overly-complex plot by the US government? there would be too many people aware, too many involved, too many to keep quiet.

I don't think our government is actually committing the reprehensible acts, just covering them up when they happen, like the ones you mentioned........and they aren't very good at it. The Warren Commission report was a joke. Can't wait for Princes Hillary to testify,

it is very clear from watching this anderson cooper peice, that it is no longer acceptable to question what any mainstrem media puts forward as "truth" and if you do, you are immediatly made to look like a kook and a guntoting madman. It is also plainly obvious, if one bothers to even scratch the surface of the official sandy hook and auroura shootings, that there is something very fishing going on. It should worry you, when people accept blindly what is given as fact, and no longer even dare to question.

Although this particular case is absurd, If you think for a moment that the government is beyond such reprehensible acts, you are a fool. Our Government will stop at virtually nothing to gain more power over the people and will lie about anything. The JFK assassination, Benghazi are just 2 instances the the government lies for their own benefit.
