Thursday, January 10, 2013 2:31:54 PM As @auburnjunky has wisely pointed out: >>A bit of cloth coloured as the US Flag doesn't make it "a US Flag" which gets covered by "Flag Laws". Even burning a real US Flag is OK as a 1st Amendment right. Didn't you watch 8 years of Anti-Bush "rallies"? |

Thursday, January 10, 2013 12:35:14 PM We do THIS to our flag and then people call it an abomination when a protester burns one, because we HAVE to respect the flag. I'm sorry, but when you can no longer say that somebody has skid marks on their American Flag boxers... you can talk to me about respect. ROFL |

Thursday, January 10, 2013 6:44:16 AM We save this kind of thing for Canada Day, although I'm sure there are a scant few that don't. |

Thursday, January 10, 2013 5:00:14 AM Wait, does that mean you could set them on fire and claim it's legal under the constitution? And SpermNinja, I fully agree about Australia day. I also live in the middle of the largest Iraqi community in Australia, which just happened to already have a huge generational welfare problem before that - with a bit of luck we won't have any patriots setting fire to the neighbourhood. |

Thursday, January 10, 2013 2:47:59 AM That is so tacky. It's starting to become a thing here too, unfortunately. we've got Australia day coming up, which means people driving around with cheap chinese-made Aussie flags hanging off their cars, So-cro tatts sinking copious amounts of beer, and picking fights with immigrants/tourists. 9 out of 10 of us probably couldn't even tell you what the day signifies. It's funny that a day of 'national pride' is the one I'm most ashamed of. |

Wednesday, January 09, 2013 10:01:36 PM Those are not American flags. They are dyed cloth meant to portray, but not actual flags, so they do not violate the flag code. If the shirts and shorts were made of actual American Flags, that were purposed as American flags before they became clothing, then it would violate it. |

Wednesday, January 09, 2013 8:32:27 PM Good lord. Does he have a flag wedgie into his sweaty checks? They used to try and crack down on hippies wearing the flag because of disrespect. Now, where is your goad? |

Wednesday, January 09, 2013 7:07:30 PM "This is a U.S. federal law, but there is no penalty for failure to comply with it. In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that punitive enforcement would conflict with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech." Ah ha! United States Flag Code |

Wednesday, January 09, 2013 7:04:07 PM That is illegal in the US. Actually no it isn't, as the SCOTUS has ruled that enforcing it would conflict with the First Amendment. As far as anyone's concerned it's simply guidelines written in statute. |
