Tuesday, January 08, 2013 2:27:04 PM Tunnel Boring Machine cutter head. Judging by the color choice I'd say somewhere in Japan. |

Tuesday, January 08, 2013 12:06:33 PM Sure, extensive testing has shown this paint color to be the best for their purpose but ugh ugh, put a bag on it's head now. It's that aqua/teal/green that offends my color sensibilities. Would have been fine with a smoky turquoise. |

Tuesday, January 08, 2013 11:58:01 AM It's a tunnel drilling bit. The colors painted on it are for tracking purposes. when they press the bit against rock, the colors scuff off onto the rock so they can reference where it's making contact & line the bit up to get the most bite out of it... |

Tuesday, January 08, 2013 11:47:18 AM Looks a bit like a drill bit for a huge tunnel digging machine. Why a drill bit would be painted with pretty colors, someone else hopefully knows. |

Tuesday, January 08, 2013 11:47:01 AM By the size of it I would say it is for a 4 lane tunnel. Most likely to go under the sea as it is in a dry dock and the big cranes in the background. |
