Why?
the second amendment does not say you have the right to own everything, it says you have the right to own guns, which guns you can own is decided by the government.
No. It says we have the right to bear arms. Arms as in weapons. All sorts of weapons. Most definitions specifically state military type weapons when looking up the word "arms."
Right now you can own semi-automatics, but that's not the second amendment that stated you have the right to own semi automatics, it was your government that made that choice.

Superstorm Sandy was steered into New Jersey by HAARP so the Feds could swoop in, save everyone and everything and make the locals that grateful they'd be long term even more pliant to governmental rule.

Kind of, but not really - his letter was a philosophical discussion regarding political generations. Within his letter, he suggested that no political generation had the right to create debts or laws that govern the following generations. Additionally, he calculated the political lifespan of a generation to be 19 years.
As such, his conclusion was that the Constitution SHOULD BE rewritten every 19 years. Otherwise, it is the forcing of ones beliefs and debts on another. However, he does not claim that the Constitution expires after 19 years.
An additional rebuttal to your claims and inferences is that we currently inherit our fathers political debts. Therefore, Jefferson's interpretation is not currently in effect.

McGovern1981 - It's funny that you talk about the constitution, and your so called "rights", and that if the second amendment does apply to the weapons of the time, it should apply to all of them.
In fact, it does. Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to James Madison in 1789, your own third President, said that the constitution expired after 19 years and if it continued on after those 19 years it is an act of force.
As far as I know, the constitution did not expire after those 19 years, therefore it is an act of force and did apply to the time it was written and does not apply now.
I'm sure you, in your ignorance, will try and refute this, but you'll be wrong regardless of what you attempt to come back with. You're just an arrogant, ignorant person who hides behind an outdated constitution that should have expired a long time ago. |
