Maggots only eat diseased, dead flesh. They probably helped keep it clean. They're used on burn victims to remove the dead, burnt skin 'cause they won't touch living tissue.
So, gross but they probably are helping the guy. |

My mind is blown. How do you even go so long and -not- know there is an issue? I mean, for crying out loud, his skull is exposed! I get possible limited medical coverage/access/etc but
