Sunday, January 06, 2013 11:40:20 PM I was going to point-out several others (# 22 - Mythbusters also, @ Crakr and chalket but Runemang beat us all to the punch) Speaking of "Orange" though @studioso ("purple = circle, orange = storage, porridge) I don't think those are considered proper rhymes. It's tantamount to the pervasive use of the term 'nigga' when one can think of nothing else to compliment a word ending with an 'a', but not technically rhyming with it. To rhyme, I believe at least the last two letters of a monosyllabic word have to produce perfect homonymic synchronicity (disregarding spelling anomalies like double-esses). In multi-syllabic words, I believe the same effect has to be produced with at least the final syllable of our rhyming word's predecessor. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 11:00:46 PM These stupid "facts" are still kicking around? I'm surprised the one about a duck's quack not echoing isn't on here. The list is hardly complete without it...complete bull, that is. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:08:57 PM Ok, so the only fact you highlight is completely incorrect: www.snopes.com/business /money/redensign.asp so that makes it hard to enjoy the rest of list. |

"Why the hell would the American flag be on Canadian money?" To commemorate the Canadian/American war when the US occupied their capital. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:18:00 PM @tatripp How about "Go." ? Also a command with the implied subject (you) and the verb, go. Plus, it's one letter shorter. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:13:46 PM While the 2 dollar bill has not even existed in Canada for years, a simple google search, or look into the envelope of old bills in my dresser) says, nope, that flag is Canadian. as for the clocks in Pulp Fiction, after I heard this "fact" a long time ago, I made it a point to verify this during my next viewing - it's a lie. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 8:36:35 PM 48 is wrong. I have my BA in English and I can come up with a shorter complete sentence on the spot: "Run." My sentence is an imperative or command and the implied subject is (you) and the verb is run. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 8:03:09 PM on number 7: there are more than one 9 letter word that is a single syllable. Strengths, Stretched...screeched is just one of many. |
