@5cats, i've said it before, deep down inside of you is a nice guy, you just need to keep your mouth shut so you don't ruin it for that guy.
There is no evidence what so ever that this guy was going to kill and rape her and her kids.
Secondly you don't need a gun to defend yourself. i'll show you one time, but it might hurt.
as for for your opinion about the legal side of it. read the other comments.
As for the mum shooting the guy,- well done, i would have done the same in that situation. |

Shot five times in the face and neck. That is more proof that handgun cartridges lack sufficient velocity to effectively stop someone. That is why rifle rounds are always used when you want absolute stopping effect. That is why handguns will never and should never replace rifles. |

Someone breaks into my house they are going to get a throwing knife in the face, if they are lucky. Might be a sword in the gut.
I don't care if I get arrested. I won't get time.
Thats if I even call the cops. Which I wouldn't.

The only thing I see wrong with this is 5Cats's moronic tag line. I'm hoping for his sake that the mods changed that to make him look stupid.
The woman took her kids and hid in a crawl space. She didn't just fire on him from the front room (although she would have been in the right there also). If you are going to break into someones house you take the risk that you will be shot. |

@MacGuffin you don't know the guys motives any more then then 5cats and being the criminal entering someone else's house unfortunately you abandon the right to say it was only a burglary how is she meant to tell the difference between a rapist and burglar. |

That is bull$hit @5cats. You presuppose that one would absolutely be arrested in Canada, which is blatantly false, and then go on to imply that people shooting intruders in their home in the US are never arrested, which is also bull$hit. I'm a province away and I can still smell you on the wind from here. |

In Canada, he might have be employed. In Canada, he might have been on EI. In Canada, he may have had help in prison the 5 previous arrests. In Canada, his vehicle may have not started because it was too cold out. In Canada, the family may have been killed in wintery road conditions 5 years earlier.
Comparing Canada to the US is silly. They are different. One is not better than the other, except in everyone's own personal opinion. You can always move there if you like.
Personally, I like imperfect Canada the way it is. Why are you always trolling 5Cats? |

See, they do report on people being saved by guns. I hear stories like this once or twice a month. The stories on gun crime I hear once or twice a week. And those are only the bigger stories.
Also the man did not have a rape record, so why would they have been raped? |
