Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:56:57 AM Oh yeah, you should also stop and think about this for a minute. When sh*t like this happens and the public is kept in the dark or "lied to" as you you say, there's usually a good reason for it. With the internet and information being so readily available there's a good chance that if they come out and announce there was a vulnerability/weakness found that information can then be used by an enemy to conduct more attacks in other places until that weakness is fixed. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:55:43 AM HolyGod, "5Cats, Crakr, OldOllie, DromEd and the rest of the crazies will come in here and make dozens of posts." To be fair there are crazies from the left also. Madest immediately comes to mind. The sad thing is these are smart people, they are just in deep in the world of opinion media. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:37:31 AM @MacGuffin - Thank you, that is exactly where I was going next. I'd like to know how many of these people who are so "outraged" over this and the possible cover-up/confusion have either served in the military or worked in government in any way, shape or form. If any of them did, they'd have working knowledge that it's not as black and white as they seem to think. Whenever something "bad" happens there's always an immediate CYA reaction and damage control and you know your part as to what you can/cannot say or do. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:36:18 AM ExtraCredit "Strange to still be banging this drum. How is 5cats able to get this crap posted?" Because this is a business. 5Cats, Crakr, OldOllie, DromEd and the rest of the crazies will come in here and make dozens of posts. The rest of the community will make several dozen calling them out for it. After everything is said and done there will be several pages of comments and the people who really engage will hit the refresh button dozens of times. S.hit like this equals page views. Page views is what determines what they can charge for advertising. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:20:17 AM Proof by assertion definition continued, "This fallacy is sometimes used as a form of rhetoric by politicians, or during a debate as a filibuster. In its extreme form, it can also be a form of brainwashing. Modern politics contains many examples of proof by assertions. This practice can be observed in the use of political slogans, and the distribution of "talking points", which are collections of short phrases that are issued to members of modern political parties for recitation to achieve maximum message repetition. The technique is also sometimes used in advertising. An example is a quote by Lenin "A Lie told often enough becomes the truth." |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:19:56 AM Perhaps I'm missing it, but can someone explain what the actual point being made in this video is? A US Embassy got attacked. Some people phucked up. Some people died. Politicians covered their arses rather than recognised what could and should have been done better, thereby setting the stage for the next phuck up. I'm sorry if it's news to you, but as any squaddie or public sector employee will tell you, none of that is unusual, particularly where the government/military is concerned. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:19:55 AM What Fox News uses to get their followers to believe the spin is Proof by Assertion or as they call it in the military, brain washing, "Proof by assertion, sometimes informally referred to as proof by repeated assertion, is an informal fallacy in which a proposition is repeatedly restated regardless of contradiction. Sometimes, this may be repeated until challenges dry up, at which point it is asserted as fact due to its not being contradicted. In other cases, its repetition may be cited as evidence of its truth, in a variant of the appeal to authority or appeal to belief fallacies." |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:10:55 AM From Wikipedia, "Sensationalism is a type of editorial bias in mass media in which events and topics in news stories and pieces are over-hyped to increase viewership or readership numbers. Sensationalism may include reporting about generally insignificant matters and events that don't influence overall society and biased presentations of newsworthy topics in a sensationalist, trivial or tabloid manner." |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:07:50 AM Let's see: Far-right-wing partisanship, Obama-bashing, MSM, "LIES!", cover-up, all topped up by a crap rating from the community. Surely a 5Cats post? Yes! Still batting at 100%. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 10:06:20 AM @peakingo, "Actually becomes angry when MSM doesn't report something, since you know that's like the most trust worthy news network since FOX." You are confusing MSNBC with MSM. The term MSM was created by Fox News to allow them to get away with their ridiculous sensational stories. They used repetition to burn the term into peoples heads until it was their own thought, "It has to be true. The main Main Stream Media isn't reporting on it." or "Here's something the MSM won't report on..." It was a brilliant plan that worked and they started making lots of money, but in the process they ruined news forever. Soon MSNBC was following their format. Even CNN is starting to do sensationalism. Fox News really is the worst thing to happen to America. In a time when we needed unity they divided us. That doesn't bother Rupert Murdoch in the least because he isn't American. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:17:48 AM @peakingo: Like I said: It doesn't bother you one little bit that the President of the USA, his staff and other officials, ALL lied about Benghazi, for a week? We know they had the real story AS IT DEVELOPED. They watched it on live TV (drone) ffs... #1 MSM = mainstream media, it's their name, you got a problem with that? I type it, you know who I'm talking about. Like CIA or FBI, duh? #2 I don't watch Fox News, but thanks for trying to change the subject, as expected... predictable. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:11:01 AM @Cajun: lots of assets in the region, but almost nothing was done to help. Considering the attack lasted 7 hours? Aircraft, Marines and other forces could EASILY have been deployed before the 2 CIA guys were killed (in hour 5 iirc). A CIA team made it to the airport, but had to wait several hours for "official escort". "Spectre" gunships were nearby, those things are lethal. It's speculated that the two CIA guys who died had returned to the Embassy in order to "highlight" the enemy for Spectres... which never came. It was a disaster, no doubt about it. But just who is responsible? Obama isn't telling, except to openly lie about what happened. And Democrats, liberals and the MSM are just fine with that! Nothing to see here, move along! |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:03:03 AM 5cats has officially ousted himself as the crazy old guy in the neighborhood. 2 reasons: 1-Says "The MSM" Like the MTV. 2-Actually becomes angry when MSM doesn't report something, since you know that's like the most trust worthy news network since FOX. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 7:47:10 AM To me this whole debacle is a symptom of how seriously fu<ked up our foreign policy has become. Obama knew, but there wasn't much he could do. All of our assets were tied up in other efforts (yet we have so many of them). |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 6:07:02 AM So, you got nothing eh? Just insults, topic changes and accusations of being wrong. Typical! It remains a fact: they lied for a week, all of them, then altered the story NOT on "new information" but because the facts were leaking out. Obama had the facts from day one and chose to lie. Or was he talking about ANOTHER video which inspred a different mob? And we just misunderstood him (and Susan Rice, and Hilary Clinton) all those times? |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 12:17:40 AM If you want some really crazy conspiracy theory/cover-up sh*t to make your panties moist then you should watch Jesse Ventura. Season 3, Episode 3, called Time Travel will fill you in on all the details that you would probably believe without a doubt if you saw it on Faux News. They say the gov't has been using time travel for decades. Rumsfeld knew about the 9/11 attacks and had pictures "from the future" of the planes hitting the towers on 9/11/01 when he was working for the Nixon administration. All the US Presidents are selected 20-30 years in advance and they know about it and are trained to fool us during their "campaigns" so it looks like we vote them in. Some other guy who claims he's a "Chrononaut" who travels in the secret time/space program and has a picture of himself at the Gettysburg Address. If you want to go crazy, might as w |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 12:05:00 AM Put on your tin foil hats. Sad when IAB decide to post ridiculous political propaganda like this. This "case" is big if you follow it on FOX News, Limbaugh and Drudge - the cogs of the retarded right wing spin machine. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 10:41:38 PM Watched several news channels during this timeline....taking all the information into account, and putting it in order, this was incompetence, with a cover-up.....so blatantly obvious......as for this Thomas Ricks interview...I can't see what he said had anything to do with the subject....ok, so civilian contractors were killed at some point in history too.....ok, that's bad, but what's that got to do with THIS attack? And how'd that Secretary Rice appointment work out Mr. Ricks ? Tired of my government lying to us. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 10:09:17 PM The person/people that put this video/edit together are child like in approach. If you folks think this a serious take, then YOU need serious lessons in history. You gotta roll back your clocks a little further if you are even going to TRY and wrap your heads around this crap. |
