@caper454 - Yeah, what a f*cking baby, it was just a blood clot in her brain. Nothing serious about that, she could have just walked that one off.

The best part (which the video doesn't mention) is when Hillary played sick to avoid testifying about Benghazi. One of our illustrious "leaders" malingering like a kid trying to get out of a test at school. Shameful. Yet Americans don't care.

Wow the special effects and Bourne type soundtrack really sells this to the uninformed. Obama was re-elected.... deal with it.

This is about as bad as the left grabbing every gun crime they can find to push what they want. They f**ked up bad government is good at that case closed. Move on and blow the s**t out of the Taliban for it.

Nothing more of a body count than the collateral kills for any given drone strike.

Wow MacGuffin. No wonder you come up with such bizarre rebuttals and make people so angry. You see things that aren't there and read things that in no way resemble what people are actually saying. The translations you gave for the quote left me completely baffled. I don't even know how to respond. Let me guess, in school you got a lot of word questions incorrect because you read them a different way, and when you received the results you argued and argued with your teachers about what their questions were actually asking?

@markust:

You didn't need to explain anything, I understood the statement fine. The quote was there to read only a few lines below, and it STILL says what I alleged. i.e. :

"THERE IS NOTHING so absurd" (= no thing exists that is absurd enough)

"...that if you repeat it often enough, people will believe it." (= nothing exists that fits this definition)

Changing the order of the clauses without changing what they're saying makes it clearer where the error is grammar is. This statement may be re-stated as:

"No statement exists that may be repeated enough times and is absurd enough for people to believe it."

It's clear from the context that the quote intends the opposite. i.e., it intends to say:

'There ARE some absurd statements that exist, that if you repeat them often enough people will start to believe them.'

But that is clearly *not* what he says.

Why on the main page, looking at the title and description of the post, did I immediately know that it was one of three IAB'ers that posted this?

Yep - I was right.

@MacGuffin, "Is this one of these perversions of the English language, like when you say "I could care less", and are oblivious to the fact that you are indicating the opposite of what you believe yourself to be indicating?"

I'll add an explanation inside the quote. maybe that will help, "There's nothing so absurd that if you repeat it (the absurd statement) often enough, people will believe it."

I think you need to re-read the quote again MacGuffin. It is saying exactly what you said. He just used the word absurd instead of crazy.

Not talking about the media at all, talking about the fact that at times, lies & deception are a necessary evil in order to avoid putting others in danger. It's really not a hard concept to grasp, it's like your girlfriend asking you if her a$$ looks fat in her new jeans. Even if it does, you tell her "No baby, looks good on you" in order to avoid the obvious consequences of telling her "Yes dear, your a$$ does look fat in those jeans. You should try getting on the treadmill a few times per week."

@markust: Admits to deliberate trolling = nice!

@WhoDat: Decides he cannot understand why the Government is not allowed to lie to it's own people.
Utterly ignores the duplicity of the MSM based on Repub (Bush lied! People died!) vs Dem (Obama and his friends saved Libya! Syria? Where's that?) and nothing else.

Of course IF there were some secrects to protect it's the PotUS's job to do so. In THIS situation what possibible "secret" needed to be kept for a week? The CIA didn't even secure the site, a TV reported wandered in days later and found documents laying everywhere, ffs.
Especially when other sources (like the head honcho of Libya) were already telling the truth.

The only "secret" is: What did Obama know and when did he know it?
The White House is blocking this story with all it's might. Most Transparent President Ever!

5Cats, "Um, @markust? I highly doubt that. And people are calling ME paranoid? Check Wiki... oh you did! But NOT for "MSM" apparently. "brainwashing" you say that as if the MSM isn't doing exactly that? You imagine it's a purely "right wing" phenomenon?"

You are so predictable - focus on a misstatement and ignore all the rest. I reread my comment after I sent it. I was going to fix the "Fox News came up with the term" but Wikipedia didn't say who or when it was created. But I looked into it because I knew you would latch onto that.

I'm done wasting my time with you and listening to your nonsense. You have no first hand knowledge of how a government/military operates which is clearly the reason why you actually believe the steaming pile of sh*t that comes out of your mouth.

@5Cats - That's not bullsh*t, you're just f*cking retarded, take the tinfoil hat and the blinders off. I served 8 years in the Marine Corps, I've been to war, I know how it works. If you go around broadcasting any weakness in a defensive position or anything like that the first thing an enemy will do is exploit that weakness. That's not bullsh*t, it's called being smart and not letting information out that could possibly put the lives of other people in jeopardy. Once you fix that weak link in the chain then no one cares who knows about it because it's no longer a problem. Get your head out of your a$$.

...there's a good chance that if they come out and announce there was a vulnerability/weakness found...

@WhoDat: Now YOU are just making up bullshiite!
IS it like when the New York Times published secret spy info and endangered every US operative in the world? That was while Bush was PotUS so it's OK then?

There was NO "secrets to protect" about security because there very nearly WAS no security! It was reported on the news how "local security forces" being used had abandoned their posts. What in heaven are you saying man? Obama protected national security by saying their was a (non-existant) riot?
Head + shake!

The term MSM was created by Fox News...

Um, @markust? I highly doubt that. And people are calling ME paranoid? Check Wiki... oh you did! But NOT for "MSM" apparently.
"brainwashing" you say that as if the MSM isn't doing exactly that? You imagine it's a purely "right wing" phenominon?

@MacGuffin: Because UK Prime Ministers lie all the time, and no one thinks it's a problem over there? Hummmm.... NOT!

@WhoDat: Why are "we outraged over this" and not other things?
#1 This is so blatent and easy to prove, it's amazing they even tried to lie!
#2 Because the MSM is caught in the same web they gleefully drop on "right wingers"
#3 Because it's the PRESIDENT! ANY President who did this should be dragged in front of the higest court possible to explain him/her self!
FFS! Skin colour is not an issue!

"There's nothing so absurd that if you repeat it often enough, people will believe it." William James (1842 - 1910) The father of modern Psychology.

Weirdly enough, I think he meant the exact opposite of what he actually said. I think the intent is that if you repeat a crazy idea often enough, some people will start to accept it. But that's not what the quote says at all.
