@jacos27 - great white sharks are smaller than that when first born live. Admittedly this is a young fish, but its clearly a lamnid. Which is just as well for the rescuer - pulling a carcharinid, like a bull shark, by the tail is likely to demonstrate their greater flexibility, and result in a bite. lamnids are stiffer in body form, more muscle, built for short bursts of speed.
There aren't that many lamnids, great white is the most likely inshore, and fin shape and colour all match. |

Good on the guy. I would imagine in that situation the shark was pretty harmless. I would of done the same for the shark. |

Sharks don't last long if they don't have water flowing over their gills. Poor thing was so weak didn't look like it was strong enough to get past the tide.  |
