Sunday, January 06, 2013 7:19:46 AM Why is this on here? Some guy from Europe must have Aurora and Shooting as key words on his news feed or something. This isn't entertaining, or insightful. Its some guy hopped up on Meth and shooting his in-laws while his wife escapes out a second story window. I don't visit I-am-bored to be reminded that this happened 5 minutes from my house yesterday. Dick bags. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 6:43:00 AM "If they actually passed a Constitutional Ammendment and did ban guns, the same thing would happen that happened when they banned Alcohold & Pot ... We will get it anyway. The governement will lose all control and we'll have gun-runners, smugglers, and a powerful, violent crime cartel will rise up to sell them. The US just doesn't learn." That is one of the reasons I wouldn't be in favour of a total ban if I was an American. Totally banning something after it has already been so readily available rarely works. |

HG - That explains why it's a story in Aurora. It's a story on IAB so we can fight about gun control.

Saturday, January 05, 2013 9:08:46 PM I have an ex-gf that lives in Aurora and used to brag about how small-town-wonderful of an environment it was (implying "compared to [MY] life") ... hmm. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 6:16:52 PM Now, y'see, if the three victims had all been packing heat, the shooter wouldn't have got any further than the first one! They should all have had handguns with that druggie nut around the house! Right, NRA? |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 5:47:09 PM I like how people treat a person's country like it is a product of the things they do. Personally I just live here, I may be proud to be Australian, but I have had very little effect on the good and the bad side of the country. As for the meth/gun debate, not really sure I care anymore. If people just want kick ass guns available to them, let them. It is nice to know that when shi hits the fan, there is a gun at hand for people to sought that stuff out. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 4:37:15 PM Todays shooting, ladies and gentlemen, for your perusal. Damn those drink and drugs. I'll bet if they had more guns they wouldn't drink so much. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 4:34:50 PM MattPrince "Samsung Computer" Look at every aspect of that. The monitor, the memory, the processor, the hard drive. I guarantee at some point in the process an American inventor or company had a hand in the development. "OS - Microsucks" "Browser Chrome" "Internet" The internet as it functions today is a heavily American developed entity. Not to mention the american companies and servers that make the internet possible. I'm not saying other companies couldn't do it, I'm just saying that is how it was done. "Electricity?" Again, the harnessing, commercialization, and mass distribution was developed heavily in America. I'm not by any means jingoistic. But my point stands. The US has its hands on so many things. A random hostage situation does not a downfall make.

Saturday, January 05, 2013 3:09:51 PM There's no one person who "invented" the internet. Some say the idea dates back to WWII, Vinton Cerf (born in New Haven, CT) is given credit for developing TCP/IP protocol and TBL gets credit for HTTP. There were so many different people/companies involved that credit cannot solely be given to any one of these people/companies. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 2:37:17 PM @Holygod Samsung Computer - invented by babbage (UK), manufacturer Korea + various OS - Microsucks - yep that *is* USA, hope your chest swells with pride.. Browser Chrome - parent company is USA, development - worldwide. Internet - invented by TBL - UK Electricity? oh ffs - too many hands on that weapon, but as I'm not plugged in Volta gets my nod, an Italian ! I'll not bother pointing out that are 'lectric is developed over here, even if the utility company is owned by a foreign company (would be wrong for me to take this any further...) I think if USA disappeared overnight, the world would be a wierd place, not a better one, certaily unstable due to the huge power void, but it wouldn't just stop. |

We need more laws. Every time something happens, we should react by making more and more laws, until the vocal minority are pleased. Maybe then europe will love us. Please europe we need your approval! |
