Sunday, January 06, 2013 3:44:23 PM OMG Yes! About damn time. I looked forward to this movie for what seemed like a century, appending every mention of it to my friends with "If they f*ck this up, Hollywood is dead to me". At least I can take a little comfort in the fact that apparently I wasn't the only one who thought this movie was a giant, steaming pile of sh*t. Geiger must be rolling over in whatever bottle he's taken residence in (and if he's not trying to drown the memory of this flick, he should be!). Out. |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 11:32:29 AM One thing I did admire, but it was rather inchoerently pieced together, was the use of alot of Gieger's original Alien concept ideas (used in designing the Alien in Alien) The Alien pyramid, the small Alien squid, the Pilots ect. I thought the big squiddy facehugger at the end was Bogus, although, I am Pro ExoSquiddie. Vampire Exterestrial Squids Rule! |

Sunday, January 06, 2013 11:06:54 AM the 2 finger FU stemms back to the Roman Conquests. It represents(ed) a castrated man in a legs up position getting f'ed. It had the same meaning as the genital sign used in the USA. The Promethieus was sooo flawed it was painful to watch. Would have been better to make a straight prequile to Alien involving the Engineerrs rather than a sepret (but obviously a hacked prequile) to Alien. Tghe only Character that had any motivation was David. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 3:28:42 PM and the character motivation is even worse. So she steals a spare ship, with David the head. WTF is she going to eat during that trip?... |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 11:34:57 AM Oh yeah, the writing - Ridley "lost" the plot.. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 11:28:41 AM @MattPrince: The surprising thing is that Prometheus is very similar in plot to AVP. Regarding the video Brometheus linked to...I have read other explanations as well. The problem is that the movie isn't bad merely because it's confusing. It's bad because the writing is dreadful, and the character motivation is even worse. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 11:07:47 AM Still I'm a Scott fan .. I admire his purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.

Saturday, January 05, 2013 11:03:57 AM It was a disappointment in all but visuals and Fassbenders performance. It could have been a great film - if only he hadn't tried to fit it into the alien mythos, having to twist and contort to do so, and creating confusion all round for the fan base (another planet.. oh OK). So many plot holes, so many poor choices by the characters, like drating unbelievable choices, so many many light years from Alien. Biggest problem - trying to build up to something big, which requires slow pacing - whilst having to go at a stupidly fast plot pace to skip over the gaping holes. If you liked the movie - good for you, its not a really bad movie, but for me:- Alien >= Aliens >> Alien 3 >= Alien Resurrection >> Prometheus >>>>>>>> AvP. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 9:52:38 AM I loved it. I thought it was a great film. Was it a flawless film? Of course it wasn't. But it was entertaining, a very enjoyable film and I cannot wait to see what they follow it up with. I think the problem has been people hyped it up far too much, the trailers implied it would be something far different to the final product and people didn't like that, especially that we didn't get answers, which to be fair I enjoyed. And onto being pissed off by films - I'm never pissed off by a film. If I don't like a film, I either turn it off or I never watch it again. A very good film though, very enjoyable and I couldn't have been happier with it. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 7:54:54 AM Brometheus: I watched your link and I agree on that some movies are better if they make us think and wonder, BUT, if he wanted to appeal to our intelligence, why drown all the questions in things that make no sense on any plane? Oh, and the link reminded me of a thing I left off my list: Space axes. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 7:13:28 AM But he missed so much stupid! Some examples: White alien seeds earth with human DNA with the most efficient way possible; by committing agonizing suicide. Scientist notices he's infected by something, hides the fact instead of quarantining himself and alerting the crew. All evil characters (human and alien) are evil because of reasons. As soon as the biologist has a choice to do anything he invariably does the stupid thing. And my favourite: Noomi Rapace doing athletics with severed abdominal muscles held together by staples. |

Saturday, January 05, 2013 3:21:54 AM I seriously didn't think the movie was that bad. I hope they bring out a directors cut that undoes some of the editing though.

Saturday, January 05, 2013 1:06:18 AM It was a jumbled mess of a film and to make it worse the cool space jockey was revealed to be some kind of bland generic star trek aliens. Total waste of an opportunity to make something really good. |

Brometheus, I enjoyed Blair Witch very much. An innovative indipendant film. Prometheus was a mainline hollywood film with a HUGE budget. There is no exucese for the cinematic dhiarea they gave us. I repeat, an ALIEN movie with no Aliens! |

Friday, January 04, 2013 8:06:32 PM Hey, censor that obscene picture! No one in the US really knows/cares about it and the only reason I know is I watch British television and vaguely remember a president getting flack for doing it out of the states. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 7:59:53 PM I can love a movie that I know is absolute crap but there were so many plot holes that I can't even remember what bugged me when I watched it. It was like watching the Dune movie via the disney channel, nothing made sense and all the cool bits were gone. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 5:30:37 PM Prometheus just shouldn't have been made period. You know a movie sucks when all the cool stuff they show in the trailer doesn't happen until the last 10 minutes. |
