Saturday, January 05, 2013 8:20:18 AM '250 CV's sent off and no job? Says a lot about the guy huh?' you know there's a recession on yes? As for your 'MTFU' what kind of man uses a pussy acronym like that?

Saturday, January 05, 2013 6:41:58 AM If I worked in marketing I'd hire him. I guess that explains why you don't work in marketing. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 1:39:54 PM 250 CV's sent off and no job? Says a lot about the guy huh? He could start by accepting a job THEN looking for other work. Also, he needs to lose the "comedy" shirts, the geeky glasses and MTFU. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 12:54:27 PM "It might surprise you this, Listy, but of all the things that might potentially differentiate one candidate from another, the desire to get the job usually isn't one of them" I used to interview maybe 1-15 a month for various IT positions in my department... you'd be surprised at how many didn't want the job enough to say work the odd extra hour if the business needed it (at overtime rates or do the odd weekend work if there was a new rollout etc. And that was for junior it supervisor positions mainly....that's not even kids who are unemployed that have no intention of ever working or looking for a job. Unlike this guy, who as I said, is clearly interesting in working for a living. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 12:19:12 PM A very canny use of £500. His application video is getting a lot of attention. Besides, he could have just photoshopped the billboard and be lying about the cash. |

But surely he gets a tick in the right box for his apparent willingness to work in the first place. It might surprise you this, Listy, but of all the things that might potentially differentiate one candidate from another, the desire to get the job usually isn't one of them. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 11:26:04 AM I don't think he's quite understood the economics involved in recruiting there. Unless he's looking for a job working for his mother, knowing that he was dumb enough to spend £500 on something so useless makes him less employable, not more. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 10:28:34 AM I took 4 minutes to watch his video on EmplyAdam.com. Interesting, he's looking for work in the media. 24 years old, media studies at some university, youtube account, 3700 subscribers, 11 videos created, 500,000 views... |

Friday, January 04, 2013 9:46:37 AM It would be nice to know what skills someone has before just giving them a job. As CodeJockey said, I think spending the last of your money on a billboard shows me he may not be a very responsible person and/or a poor decision maker. |

Friday, January 04, 2013 8:14:14 AM I think it would make me ask for his cv or give him an interview...whether he got a job would depend on how he came across in that and what his skills were in the first place. But surely he gets a tick in the right box for his apparent willingness to work in the first place. |

Good for him. Creative marketing of himself. Wish I'd thought of that when I wasn't working. |
