This show is a succinct example of why I don't go out during December. Ever. I party the rest of the year, when the normal people who know how to have fun come out and play. The Christmas and New Year crowd, though, contain a significant number of that element that *only* go out those one or two nights a year, for their work Christmas bash or for New Year. They get drunk, make a pain in the arse of themselves, and generally make it the opposite of fun for everyone else. Watching the effect alcohol has on them is like visiting a mental hospital. To be clear: I know plenty of fun people that do and do not drink. It's the ones that drink occasionally and can't handle it that are usually the problem, not whether they do or do not generally abstain.
Funny to watch on TV, but I'm glad I gave it all a miss this year again. I'll be back out on January, when all the normal crowd have returned. :)
