(cont) As knife crime isn't individually recorded. It's in papers interests to report how bad crime is as it sells more papers. In politicians interests to not question the weird collection of data because it allows them to legislate more. Take drink driving, if a drunk pedestrian runs infront of a car that is included in drink driving offences.... Making the problem of drink driving seem a lot worse then it is.

@CrakrJak We're not actually in the EuroZone.... And do you have a source? Or care to argue against any specific point I made? (they are numbered for ease of reference)

"In the twelve months ending June 2012 there were 29,513 selected violent offences that involved a knife or sharp instrument. This was 7% of the total number of the selected violent offences, a similar proportion to previous years. The number of knife offences recorded was 9% lower than in the preceding year." Such a high rate...
And may I suggest you read
and Knife Crime Statistics Parliamentary reportKnife Crime report

On the sensationalism in press what get's actually reported and the problems as knife crime isn't r

It takes skill to make up such numbers and claim them as fact...with confidence. Maybe our talents are wasted here on IAB. A lucrative career in news media or politics would be better suited.
Let me practice some more make-believe math...
1 smart ass + 1 bad joke * douche who can't take a joke = 0 fudges given. Or Evil_Eye's opinion + Evil_Eye's sense of humor = 1 sack of shat - the sack.

Bakcagain: Your explain might make sense if Britain didn't also lead the Euro Zone in knife attacks. Which has lead to, at least, one minister to demand that chef's knifes be banned.

(cont) inflated figures. to create a crisis. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

3 We have actually had a drastic change to our policing and crime has dropped now. Since we had a new government and new reforms. This data is from 2009 just as government changed and the new policies were coming into affect.

4 Around that time there was a massive push to increase reporting of all crimes. Do other countries have less crime or do people just think there is no point to report it. Take the ghetto's of Paris people won't report crime there.

So yeah you just have to threaten someone to make it a violent crime here, they were compiled by a source that wanted it to be bad so did include thing's other countries don't, We have a high level of reporting and the figures are old. So it's not because we have Glasgow and not because we're crazy violent... Just for reference I live in crime high haringey haven't had a problem in donkeys years.

Macguffin has done a poor job explaining why this is wrong. It's not because her poohole of a country (hopefully leaving) singlehandidly raises the record to extremes.

1 They tell you themselves. We record things like Affray as a violent crime other countries do not.
"(1) A person is guilty of affray if he uses or threatens unlawful violence towards another and his conduct is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety."

I find my wife cheating on me and threaten to chop the balls off the guy who's doing it. Guy runs away believing it tells police. That is violent crime. Someones talking loudly at cinema on phone. I threaten to ram the phone up were the sun don't shine if he continues. Guy get's scared believs I'll do it, that's Affray a violent crime. Can be recorded without being prosecuted. We're all sooo violent...
2 Data compiled by Tories, they wanted to change justice system. infl

@turdburglar: More people have commited crimes then their have been crimes commited? Great Scott! That is some quantum physics level crime!

Well I was just making a guess based on working as a administrator at the Plymouth Magistrates Court for a year. But I like you're theory more, based on trying to be a smart arse.

Evil_eye- I say if you put it as number of people who commited violent crimes, might be more around 100,000-13,000,000... at a guess. Making up numbers is fun!

"Please don't judge the rest of the Europe or the UK by our standards. Having one city full of violent, drunken psychopaths doesn't make everyone in the UK bad people. That's like suggesting we're all sheep shaggers just because of those Welsh perverts."

Wow, MacGuffin... really?

Meh. Better a black eye then a exit wound.

Willing to bet most of them are repeat offenses from the usual scum. Trouble is, people can get away with quite a lot before they get jailed. So one person could do about 10 minor violent crimes a year easy.

I say if you put it as number of people who commited violent crimes, might be more around 1000-1300... at a guess. So 4th place!

Macguffin's corner of the globe is a s4!t hole. Seems a fitting place for a piece shat. So much crime and gang violence in Glasgow, yet she has the arrogance to trash America and tell us what we are doing wrong. Stroke faced hypocrite.

Aww come on you guys, lay off the ridiculous misplaced nationalism. And we were just being so cool to each other there for a minute too...

Besides Iggy is by far my favorite Hetalia character, nobody else manages to seize my heartstrings in quite the same kung fu grip as his, and then proceeds to lead me around by them. Not even Alfred (AKA Chief).

Excuses macguffin, that's like Americans saying "if you exclude illegals and blacks we would be a peaceful country" can't do it.

Nah, it's more like saying if you exclude people from countries the USA has stolen land from in the past 150 years and blacks, your prison population would be approaching normal, rather than mass incarceration experiment that it is.

europeans seem to be infatuated with everything American. News, politics, celebs, etc. Most Americans don't give a poo about what's happening in europe. It's a worthless continent.

Again, you're being swayed by a contituent demographic, turdburglar. Europe doesn't give a shyte about you. Sure, we hate you on average more than, say, Asia or Africa does. But that's only because the UK is in Europe, and Scotland is in the UK, and Glasgow is in Scotland, and *I* am in Glasgow. And I hate you very much indeed.

They got a lot of pacifist homicidals over there or what?
After all, violent murders just aren't cricket!

5Cats has had it explained to him many times that Britain includes additional crimes in their category of violent crimes and that is why it appears higher than the US. But why would he want to let a little thing like the truth stop him from advancing his point of view.

Just means we're harder than you Cityncolour. And that without your little indiscriminately bullet spewing tinker toys we know how to have a bundle. And socialised medicine stitches us all up to be ready to have another go a week later. And the BBC tells us where to go for a good bundle. Britain - violent and proud and WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!
