Apparently they offered the role of Gandalf to Sean Connery first, along with something like 10% of box office receipts, but he declined because he didn't understand the script.
Let me see if I understand what you just said. Connery didn't understand the script for LOTR, but he DID understand THIS?

I don't like looking at pictures of old people when they were young especially Christopher Walkin! It is unsettling how handsome they were. Older hot gentleman who was very dapper when young, Jeff Goldblum. |

Kodak introduced Kodachrome in 1935. Ian McKellen was born in 1939. I would guess Ian is about 20 in this photo which would make it 1959 - so yes, they had color photography. ;) |
