Of course everyone is going to get upset that their favorite isn't on here... my gripe here is that they cut off the following joke on a lot of these...the joke that made it all better. |

One of the best lines I ever heard in a movie was in Damsel in Distress, P.G Wodehouse 1937 with Fred Astaire, George Burns and Gracie Allen as the ditzy secretary. For whatever reason they are infiltrating an aristocratic home on the day they snobbishly and grudgingly allow the public in for sixpence. There are a whole bunch of ropes and admonitary signs. On one table is a sign 'Do Not Finger Art Objects.'
Gracie glances at it and murmurs 'I can see how he would.' |

Way too much Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell. I agrre with Lordjim... Not even close! A few examples... from The Ref.. "Why don't you just eat me Lloyd"(If you have not seen The Ref with Dennis Leary you need to) From Sixteen candles.. " No more yankie my wankie" And from Blazing Saddles .." Outta my way ni%$%r" just to name a few. |

New title: 40-odd lame movie "comedy" quotes and a few good ones.
This is a list by someone who has never actually seen most decent comedies, so they mostly just put up the usual Hollwood junk.
How about "You can't fight in here, this is the war room", "We're all individuals ... I'm not", "I'll have what she's having"? What about some real classics, "A handbag?"? You know, stuff that's actually funny from films (and plays adapted to the screen) that are actually funny. |
