i would also like to add that the main reason concealed weapons deter violence is because when you commit a violent crime in America, you HAVE to consider the fact that where you are committing this crime you will likely run into a legally armed citizen who is trained (if they are concealing their weapons).
He 'chose' a school because there is nobody that can combat you on those grounds.
Arm the teachers, staff full time, ARMED guards.
Arm everything and everybody that can legally be armed.
the biggest detterance is the knowledge that everyone else would be able to legally shoot back.
See "Switzerland during the World Wars" to see how this "arming everyone" concept works.

even if you completely and utterly outlaw guns some nut will go into a school/church/office/nursing home/etc. carrying a machete and off a bunch of people, just cuz he wants to.
enforce the laws already in place, strictly regulate and clamp down on illegal sales by gun dealers, and do sufficient background checks before issuing gun permits. even if said background checks take 6 months.
and stop blaming anyone but the perp. its his/her mental illness that causes this, not gaming.
oh, and stop making these stories the end-all and be-all of cable news. you're just encouraging aberrant behavior in a segment of the population already unstable and looking for an excuse.

The Game Overthinker brought up some great points in his latest "Overbites" video how if the game violence was really the cause, the problem would be more widespread than it is. Not to mention, it is real world and media's portayal of violence that made its way into the games. Not the other way around.

Is it a little hypocritical to be all for gun control and against blaming video games for violence? I was wondering this the other day. whatever, I believe what I believe.
