Pick one.
The AR-15 is not an assault rifle, because it's only semi-automatic. For it to count as an assault rifle it would need to be fully automatic (like the military M-16). And fully automatic weapons are far more regulated, far more expensive (because of regulations), and far harder to get legally than weed. |

@auburnjunky - all weapons firing on full-auto are less accurate, even mounted in fixed positions or on tripods. That's why you fire bursts, and also so you don't overheat & destroy the barrel. Some people like that sh*t, just spray & pray, I prefer accuracy, quality over quantity. |

Oh, btw, I also almost took a fireball to the face when I was still half-asleep and groggily opened up the door to see wtf was going on. Let enough heat in in the time it took me to duck and slam the door back shut to melt the smoke detector off my ceiling. Apparently I can still be quick even if I'm stupid. |

Slotherder, my experiences are the other way round... I've never had any weed related mishaps or life-threatening situations, but I have been threatened directly with firearms...not including the military where it was expected, as a civvy I've twice been threatened with legally owned guns - once in the UK off a guy who legally owned a shotgun and didn't like me being sarcastic to him when he was drunk so went home and got it and the other time was when I lived in the US with my then girlfriend and I'd made a joke to a drunk guy in a bar and I went out the side for a smoke when the doormen came running round to warn me the guy had come back with his gun because he'd taken the joke badly.
Actually now I think about it, it's sarcasm to drunk guys that's the danger not the guns. |

I haven't had any direct issues with armed people threatening me in my life (to date). I have had my apartment building burn down due to someone getting stoned, getting the munchies, deciding to make french fries, putting oil on the stove, then passing out. I had to jump out the second story window into a tree to climb down, then catch my mother, who happened to arrive late that night for a quick visit, and who also landed half in a bush, puncturing her ankle and breaking her calcaneus on a branch. Anecdotal, yes, but still, a pretty clear example of a person whose experiences ironically support the legal situation. |
