That's just a few. Look like NATO forces to you?

Wonder how many of these the MSM here in the states reported on in depth...

July 24, 2011(CNN)-An 8 year-old boy was hanged by militants in Afghanistan's Helmand province after the boy's father -- a police officer in the southern city of Gereshk -- refused to comply with militants' demands to provide them with a police vehicle, officials said.

Oct, 31 2012(Telegraph)-The first blast killed ten when their vehicle hit a bomb in the Kshata Dizor area of Musa Qala district at around 9am on Wednesday. The governor's office said the dead included three women, four girls and three small children.
A second blast in Kanjak area of the same district hit a motorcycle, killing one man and wounding one woman and three children.

Nov 8, 2012(BBC)-In the Helmand attack four women and two children were among the dead when their minibus - believed to have been to a wedding party - hit an improvised explosive device (IED) in Musa Qala. Six other people were wounded.
A spokesman for the Helmand governor blamed the explosion on the Taliban.

hmmm

by the way, how many afghans/Iraqis do you think will be shedding tears for a bunch of American kids? It works both ways.

f.uck off. They're not the same thing. What happens during a war is absolutely horrific, sure. but the coalition are GENERALLY not going out of their way to murder children. That Lanza kid had a clear intent when he took his mother's guns and drove to that school, he wasn't mistaking the identity of those 5/6 year olds,he wasn't given bad intelligence, he wasn't suffering from stress or trauma from being in combat too long, those kids weren't 'collateral damage' they WERE the intended targets. The soldier who murdered 16 afghanis back in march is one exception and could arguably be put in to that category, but the amount of media coverage was minimal in that case.

I never understood why anybody would feel anything for somebody that they never knew nor never would know anyway.

That's a pretty bad example to use. Bad-guys (as you put) in films ARE BAD GUYS. You're not supposed to be bad for them. Not only that but that's not the point of the picture. It's that the media only pays attention/covers their own yet don't bother with other countries which are far worse of AND are the result of Americans themselves wanting war.

Regardless if you live in America or Afghanstahn, innocent people died due to BS actions of a gunman/government. You can put bad guys in that category.

anything that is not american, is not worth crying about. It's like when you watch action movies and 50 bad guys die: nobody cares, but 1 american gets hurt and we even get special sound effects and music. That is the way it is in real life.

"It has been reported that 3 insurgents were targeted as they were planting mines in the field. "

The "3 insurgents" WERE the 3 children. They were the ones killed. They were not planting bombs, the false assumption was that they were planting bombs. In reality they were digging for dung to fuel their house. It wasn't that children were nearby and were killed on accident. The children /were/ the targets!

Tragedy happens everywhere, this tragedy is no worse than many that have gone before. It's still OK to be upset about it though, but I think it has to be kept in perspective against similar atrocities committed by the west in the name of justice and international security. Maybe if we did think a bit more about worldwide suffering we would have the impetus to take our governments to task.

One year ago to the month my nephew was kicked to death at his high school. It never made the news. He was burty murdered in school and no one cared. He was a poor black/Indian teen and was not news worthy.

vv Good points @djwajda! Afghan terrorists of various stripes kill their own FAR more often than the NATO forces.

Acid in the faces of little girls? Anyone remember ALL those times it has happened?

Ben Stein Makes an excellent point: USA's 'liberals' are all upset by this: a random mass murder. BUT Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, leader of Iran, wants to murder ALL JEWS everywhere, including their children, and the Democrats are willing to let him...

The ONLY reasons the MSM is playing this tragic event non-stop is
#1 ratings
#2 it furthers their 'ban all guns' agenda

@Lillian

If you're referring to the NATO led airstrike in the Nawa district of Helmand province in October I'd point out to you that it was not a 'false assumption.' It has been reported that 3 insurgents were targeted as they were planting mines in the field.

It's a tragedy yes that these children got caught in the crossfire but at the same time instead of trying your best to point out children being killed by the NATO led forces why not start pointing out the numerous children killed in suicide bombings performed by their own people as well?

And Dunbar's number doesn't account for the fact that we can still IMAGINE deeper than 200 people. We just can't fully conceptualize their personalities, likes, dislikes--after a certain number. But I can certainly imagine my garbage man has a wife, kids...hopes, dreams, passions, hobbies, interests, etc.

Who really gives a f*** about those children though? Like honestly? No one. That's what is sad. You can all act like you give a damn, but you certainly don't because you never brought it up before hand. I've always been aware of the atrocities we commit--from our past, and our present, and certainly our future will proceed down the same path of inanity.

I find such things upsetting,
rather like over here The press reported a British kid was killed in the shootings, as to say forget about the rest of them one of our own is dead. Terrible, no more to say
