Tuesday, December 11, 2012 1:29:13 PM I'm not sure what you're getting at with animals and "image of peace" there, but let me clue you in. Animals are not peaceful and harmonious. Here's merely one example: When I lion conquers a pride and drives out the previous leader, he murders any cubs young enough to breastfeed. Tears them from their mothers and kills them, because doing so makes the mothers to go back into estrus sooner, allowing the new male to impregnate them with his own children. In the real-life lion king, Scar murders Simba outright and life moves on as normal. In fact, the whole "brothers" bit about that movie isn't terribly far off the mark. There are occasion in which male lion siblings will combine forces to take over a pride, and afterwards one will kill the other one for control. Nature is red in tooth and claw. And don't you ever forget it. |
