@sosueme - you saw them sleeping on cardboard right?

I don't think that was company approved naptime.

What's depressing about these pictures? People working in a clean environment, and eating in a cafeteria. How dreadfully soul crushing.

dirtysteve00-"Isn't unemployment down to it's lowest since the W era?"

Only because of the way they calculate the unemployment rate. They report the U3 numbers. More accurate numbers are the U6, which reflects a greater than 14% unemployment rate.

A VERY accurate number is the Labor Participation Rate: is the ratio between the labor force and national population over the age of 16.

The current Labor Participation Rate (63.6%) is at the lowest it's been since Carter, and it is NOT improving.

Factory work. Clean and regular work. A generation or two ago it would have been back-breaking field labour. In the last 50 years life expectancy has gone from 43 to 75, which speaks for itself.

If some of them look sad it is because some jackass (probably white) guy with a camera is trying to show everyone how bad their life is (and how great he is by comparison). Also - it's factory work. Can't all be Honey Bunches of Oats now, can we?

Oh please lefties. There are many many Americans that would do this work if it weren't for the Unions. You know it's true. Just look at the emptiness and blight in Michigan and other hard hit Union places. Crap work is better than no work. Things certainly are not going to iprove under Obama and then, God forbid, Hillary.

As BBJellyFish has already said, there's a javascript based trojan injection script on this website.

JS:Downloader-BSQ [Trj]

"Downloader.BSQ is a Trojan, which although seemingly inoffensive, can actually carry out attacks and intrusions: screenlogging, stealing personal data, etc.

Downloader.BSQ uses the following propagation or distribution methods:

Exploiting vulnerabilities with the intervention of the user: exploiting vulnerabilities in file formats or applications. To exploit them successfully it needs the intervention of the user: opening files, viewing malicious web pages, reading emails, etc.
File infection: it infects different types of files, which are then distributed through any of the usual means: floppy disks, email messages with attachments, Internet download, files transferred via FTP, IRC channels, P2P file sharing networks, etc."

Do not click.

Manufacturing is coming back to the USA. China's growth spurt as one of the BRIC countries is cooling. A rising tide lifts all vessels.

With all of the American jobs moving to China, China's standard of living is increasing as well. Now THEY are already at the early stages of wanting/having the flat panel TVs and the iPads and the laptops, etc. Soon, it won't be such a cheap a labor force to send jobs to. I know for a fact that corporate America's already planning the next step when that happens ... they're going to move to more remote and impoverished areas of Asia and start the process again. So don't feel TOO bad about the poor Chinese workers. Pretty soon they'll be wondering how to pay for their McDonalds and Netflix when their jobs move somewhere else just like us. :)

Whatever - I've worked a job here where I could neither sleep at work nor eat. They are probably paid for the whole day there.

Compare PPP between US and China and I don't feel bad.

Robot - Derived from the Slavic word Robota, meaning slave

"Let us suppose that we had carried out production as human beings. Each of us would have, in two ways, affirmed himself, and the other person. (1) In my production I would have objectified my individuality, its specific character, and, therefore, enjoyed not only an individual manifestation of my life during the activity, but also, when looking at the object, I would have the individual pleasure of knowing my personality to be objective, visible to the senses, and, hence, a power beyond all doubt. (2) In your enjoyment, or use, of my product I would have the direct enjoyment both of being conscious of having satisfied a human need by my work, that is, of having objectified man’s essential nature, and of having thus created an object corresponding to the need of another man’s essential nature. . . . Our products would be so many mirrors in which we saw reflected our essential

Doesn't look that bad to me, they even have chairs, when I worked in a factory we were lucky if there was enough standing mats for everyone.

Looks like a normal factory to me. Whats the problem? We just butt hurt that we as Americans won't do these jobs and rather be unemployed. What ever.
