"Thanks for personally bringing Gangnam Style to America, even after talking poo about us."

Gangnam Style was brought to America by Americans. Psy made the song mostly for Koreans because Koreans are the main consumers of Korean music. Like any other person, he's going to profit off his unexpected success elsewhere. Hating our wars and our military presence in other countries doesn't mean you hate American citizens though. I pretty much agree with him and I'm an American. Only thing I disagree with about the song (which isn't Psy's song) is killing family members and such. But if you're against that, you have to be against our military /too/, because our military has no problems with killing family members of "the enemies" whether or not their actual target is nearby.

I understand the S. Koreans are all sentimental about reunification and such, but the fact still remains if we weren't there Psy wouldn't be a pop star today. He'd be living in that prehistoric, devoid of city lights (from space) section that has made singing, laughing, and smiling illegal.

The shortsightedness astounds.

>>>That being said, I wonder what he thinks of those same Yankees who remain camped out there at the 38th parallel across from the DMZ lo these past 60 yrs.<<<

Wonder no longer: "at a concert in 2002 protesting against the US military presence in South Korea, the singer smashed a model of a US tank on stage".

Torture is still something that makes me heartsick to this day.

klaxor,
"Never mind that we helped supply Iraq with the tech and materials to create those chemical weapons."

You must be confusing the US with France & Germany.

"We" didn't create the disaster in Iraq/Afghanistan. Cheney & Dubya created that disaster.

Did you participate in the corrupt election that gave them power? Then you are to blame, not just them.

I agree he's a turd. Not for what he said in 2004 about America (fair comment if you ask me), but because he appears to base his publicly-expressed views on what he thinks will be popular moment to moment.

Negrodamus, Why is President Bush so sure Iraq has weapons of mass destruction?

Because he has the receipt.

Oh the humanity, I mean the false outrage. I love how the media can lead people around like sheep.

Suuuuuurrrrrrre he's sorry. Now that he's making millions of dollars of his one-hit meme. It's amazing how money changes peoples politics.

"This is just bull$#!+ Democrat slander. It never happened."

- I'm not saying that the got "knew" what was going to happen when they took Iraq off the List of State Sponsored Terrorists, thereby allowing american chemical companies to sell to Iraq (Reagan tended to turn a blind eye to these things i.e the Contras), but that doesn't really erase our involvement in the matter.

Regardless, you can't deny that Saddam was "the good guy" and helped him as much as we could, until he threatened to increase the price of oil, at which point he became the bad guy, not after it was clear that he was using chemical weapons.

Gangnam Style Sucks.

It sucked before I knew anything about his past iniquities, and it sucks now.

As to his ideology, I agree with the first aspect of his sentiment. We should absolutely not be in the business of torturing people. Not now. Not ever.

If they are enemy combatants, then let them die on the battle field. If they surrender, then imprison them, but treat them civilly and with respect and if they behave, set them free once hostilities have ceased. If they don't behave, give them a quick death.

The second half of his rant I take exception to, but I am sure he doesn't give a damn.

Ollie, yeah, we get it. Saddam was an a$$hole. So are many, many other dictators around the world, but we're not illegally invading them, are we? The western world was sold a lie that Saddam had WMDs ready to strike us (in the west) at any moment. As it turns out, he didn't have f*ck all, like the rest of the world was trying to tell us. And yes, my country (the UK) was to blame also, for going along with the bullsh*t.

p.s. Whodat's a veteran, with his own opinions having experienced what he's experienced. I have respect for that. For you, less.

"Right, and Saddam had nothing to do with it. He was just an innocent victim. Never mind that he used mustard gas and nerve gas on the Iranians and the Iraqi Kurds."
