though I get your overall point I guess, I find that specific one irrelevant.

Well, you're young, and you probably had a crap unionized public school education, so let me explain. Had the US not entered WW II, there was no one who could stop Japan from conquering and colonizing the entire western Pacific Rim including Australia. They would have been occupied, subjugated, and assimilated. By now, very few people under age 60 would even be able to speak English.

Is that relevant enough for you?

I see most IABers hate America too. South Korea can take care itself. So can Europe. Let's stop subsidizing their defense with American service people. They don't appreciate it.

I didn't participate in the corrupt joke of a political system that places these liars and warmongers in positions of power where they get to start wars that have no popular support, even though those that start them claim to be representing the public.

If you voted then, unfortunately, yes YOU did! If you didn't vote for Blair then there's no guilt. Furthermore voting for someone based on a particular platform is no guarantee they'll stick to it. Hence Bush's "compassionate conservatism" and Obama's "promise" to keep us out of further engagements. Both similiar promises both of them broken irrespective of political party.

@paddy215 Its about certain people, yes, but also their mothers, daughters and families dying a slow and painful death. Saying you disagree with torture is one thing. Saying you want to torture to death the families of someone who committed torture is the exact opposite. It actually says you support torture, just for your own purpose and satisfaction. He's not saying torture is wrong, he's saying torture of innocents is an acceptable means of revenge.

And also, you can't sing the song in a concert and then say you disagree with its meaning. It not being his song is just another verification of his belief in its message.

If those "evil" americans were never there do you think this tool would've ever been able to do what he does in a unified communist Korea? He'd be in a work camp.

Did you participate in the corrupt election that gave them power? Then you are to blame, not just them.

Following your logic MacThunderKunt you're also to blame. Your country participated or do you think you accomplished something by not voting over there?

First of all, these lyrics are specifically about certain people in the US army who were committing horrible acts of torture. Being against torture is not anti-American and disagreeing with the Iraqi war does not necessarily mean that you disagree with every war the US has ever been involved in, so bringing up the Korean war or WW2 is irrelevant . Secondly, the song is by a Korean metal group, not Psy, this is actually stated in the article for anyone literate enough to read the full story instead of a few words written on top of a picture.

Your stupidity is astonishing! Your country also participated in those wars! So you're to blame too.

I'm afraid not. I didn't participate in the corrupt joke of a political system that places these liars and warmongers in positions of power where they get to start wars that have no popular support, even though those that start them claim to be representing the public.

Also, I'm going to have to cite ad hominem tu quoque. Again. It's fast becoming the equivalent of Godwins Law for a substantial number of the dumber Americans on this site. As I've said before and will say again as many times as I need to: other countries doing 'X' doesn't make it OK for America to do the same. You just sound dumber and dumber each time you try to negate criticism of America by trotting out that tired , pathetic, risible argument each time someone criticises your country and its actions.

@OldOllie - You're not. Reading Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" during bowel movements and not having any military experience means your "opinions & strategies" are about as useful as a football bat to me. The last Republican president with military experience was George HW Bush. (Dubya doesn't count for obvious reasons because he was a total f*ck up) For the record, while I personally feel that in order to be qualified to run for president military service should be mandatory, I'm sure that would never happen. Their Joint Chiefs of Staff are the ones who communicate with the POtUS to make strategic decisions but when you have a f*cking retard like Dubya sitting in the Oval Office that doesn't really help.

When we heard we were going into Iraq EVERYONE in my unit, from the boots fresh out of SOI, up to our CO were in utter disbelief. Getting involved in a two front war usually isn't a very smart move. I'm sure you can think of some examples.

Deny you wage war on many countries without real provocation and kill, maim and torture many people (including women and children) in the process. Go on, deny it.

Hey, emmettyville, do you speak Japanese? No? You're welcome.

If you didn't see it with your own eyes you have no room to talk.

Horse$#|+! If only veterans were allowed to have a say in how thing are run, the Democrat party would be extinct. Vets support Republicans by better 2:1, and the last Democrat president with military experience was Jimmy F***ing Carter.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion as to the strategies used in the two wars, but don't tell me I'm not.

Ollie, yeah, we get it. Saddam was an a$$hole. So are many, many other dictators around the world, but we're not illegally invading them, are we?

Davy, that's just another Democrat lie. The invasion was not in any way, shape, or form "illegal."

At the end of the first Gulf War, Saddam signed a cease-fire agreement that required him to give up his WMD and cooperate FULLY with international weapons inspectors. He flagrantly violated the terms of that cease-fire agreement, so we were LEGALLY justified in RESUMING the hostilities.

Besides, if it actually were illegal, why did nearly ALL of the congressional Democrats vote to authorize the use of force, and why did they all support the war up until they saw a cynical political advantage in opposing it?

Gerry, Don't give the europeans all the credit, we were in there as well (the document took a while to download.

We even trained the Iraqi military in chemical warfare in the 60's, setting the basis for Saddam's chemical corp.

We didn't give them the complete bomb, but we sure as hell helped them every other way. It's like, if you and a few of your friends give a convicted all the pieces of a gun, and some bullets, and then act surprised when he puts it all together and robs a bank, and then points the gun at you... then you shoot him

@davymid - Thanks, that's exactly what I was going to rip OldOllie on. If you didn't see it with your own eyes you have no room to talk.

I won't argue that Saddam was an evil motherf*cker and needed to go. I witnessed first hand what he did to that country and the people. Most of the Iraqis didn't even want to fight us when we got there, the majority of intel collected from dead insurgents after firefights told us that. The only reason they were loyal to Saddam was out of fear that they and their families would be executed. Personally, the first time I searched a dead body I pulled a Syrian passport out of the guys pocket along with a bottle of what turned out to be methamphetamine pills. We constantly came across abandoned Iraqi army positions where they ditched their weapons & uniforms and tried to blend in with the general public. My problem isn't that we went there, it's with the timing. We should have been focusing solely on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

emmetyville, as soon as you can deny you weren't behind us, helping us along the whole way (remember the "Coalition of the Willing?) This is what happens when we live in world where when we say "Jump" you say "How high?"

First of all how was the election "corrupt" as you put it?
Secondly Bush Jr promised restraint as opposed to Clinton's interventions in Kosovo and Serbia.

So, just how "responsible" are voters here? With that in mind you Britons should hold just as much responsibility for Tony Blair's decision to come along for the ride.
