Monday, December 10, 2012 2:05:11 AM Well, that wasn't just flick the switch, it took some effort to get it going.. But once it started, very healthy, steady sound. It had some fuel mixture stuff when they revved it later but what a nice engine.. |

Sunday, December 09, 2012 9:51:59 AM Draculya: It's worth much more than 'scrap' to a wealthy military collector. People collect these machines, like others collect muscle cars or art. |

Sunday, December 09, 2012 9:26:01 AM Maybe not so big, but when my sister and her husband lived in northern BC, maybe 20 years back, a local guy had discovered a US Army WW2 Jeep in the woods off the Alaska Highway. He came back with a chainsaw, fresh battery, and gas, and drove it out to the road. |

Saturday, December 08, 2012 6:23:03 PM For a 70 year old machine, it's a wonder they got it started at all, let alone got the hatches open without a blow torch. It only took 'em an afternoon too. And it runs amazingly well! All it needed was a little fuel and a blow-through, and maybe some lubricant. Colour me impressed. |

Saturday, December 08, 2012 4:53:46 PM Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but that's a 'Self-Propelled Gun' not a 'Tank'. To be more specific it's a SU-152 heavy self propelled gun. The '152' is significant because that gun is a 152mm Howitzer. |

Saturday, December 08, 2012 3:09:01 PM The wonder of the war machine! There are tens of thousands of similar machines dotted around the country just waiting for half a dozen blokes in track-suits with a tool-box and a battery. Jerry-cans will be brought out and fuel tanks replenished. This is like a sci-fi episode trailer. Shame the gun was spiked though, this would have been fun to watch without cleaning. OK. So I've been down the pub, must be time for more beer and a movie.. |

Saturday, December 08, 2012 2:54:51 PM Alpensepp, did you watch the whole video??? Or maybe you didn't write the caption. They tried starting it three minutes into the video, with plenty of tools lying around evident of hours of work, several days later, they're still trying with no success yet. Or maybe this is an IAB mods crude attempt at sarcasm, which comes over as racist as usual. Don't mock another man's failures unless you've done the same job. |

Saturday, December 08, 2012 1:15:02 PM Oh and caption fail is an epic fail. It took a colossal amount of work for them to get it going again. |
