Wednesday, December 05, 2012 4:57:48 AM I'm English and love US football, hate rugby. Btw, that hit looked good to me. |

Wednesday, December 05, 2012 12:34:14 AM Yet one more reason USA is going into the crapper. When the hell did we start giving penalties for hitting too hard in football. Give me a break. I'm sure the player has Obamacare. Relax. |

Wednesday, December 05, 2012 12:18:31 AM "where's the blow job?" This is what's called "Blowing up" a tackler in US football lol. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 8:05:33 PM Sorry Cyborg. I like both teams. Auburn has beaten Nebraska rather recently, but fell short to Wisconsin. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 6:36:16 PM this hit was good but the game as a whole was terrible go huskers *sigh*... |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 4:38:40 PM I think they're both beaten by Australian Rules Football, anyway. Australian Not Many Rules Football would be an accurate description. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 4:33:58 PM I watched that program, Auburnjunky, and I saw the obvious flaw. The program was clear about it, but then ignored it in their summary. I assumed they did so deliberately to declare it a draw. The obvious flaw is that the numbers for the total impact force per game explicitly *ignore the padding*. They accurately summarised the effects of the padding in the main body of the program but completely ignored it for the summary. If they hadn't done that, the conclusion would have been rather different. In the body of the program, they explained that the effect on a rugby player being tackled was harsher than the effect on a USA football player being tackled (remember "a hospital pass" and broken ribs). More harmful hits 3 times as often per game would have been a conclusion that rugby is much harder-hitting. So they had to ignore the padding completely to jack up the USA football results to match rugby. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 2:42:35 PM "US Football hits harder, but Rugby hits more." They average out to the same amount of force throughout a game. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 2:38:29 PM It's already been established that US Football has harder hits on a regular basis, because the illusion of fear is gone due to the pads.

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 9:38:15 AM That's a good hit, but it's hard to top "The Hit" from Quentin Coryatt. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 7:55:49 AM not to mention that the blocker left his feet for the hit, otherwise known as "launching" and you can't do that either. |

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 7:53:20 AM was a good call. you can clearly see the blockers head strike the defenders head at point of contact, even if his shoulder hits first. |
