One of the reasons I've always stressed to my daughters to never drink themselves silly or unconscious....bad things can happen and you've rendered yourself helpless.
All involved were idiots. I believe one side should be punished, and the other side should in no way benefit from his stupidity. |

He's lucky they're not making him register as a sex offender after getting out of prison. Once word gets around the cell block what he's locked up for he's going to have a bad time!!! |

No, he should get something. 2 years just seems a bit much. Especially had he been drunk and driving, he would have gotten a few days in jail, at most.
The idiot who was passed out drunk in the bar and got teabagged should get NOTHING from his lawsuit, also. ("Hey, I'm an idiot and acted irrisponsibly....give me money!")
I especially like how the judge said 'You have put aside someone's dignity.' I'm sorry, but if you're passed out drunk on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, you're pretty much lacking dignity to begin with. |

Two years for this? Well, might have something to do with the fact that the 'victim' (passed out drunk) happened to be an LSU fan, and the trial was in New Orleans, and the Judge was from La. I'm surprised he he didn't get life?
Was the Alabama fan a douche? Yes.
Was the LSU fan an idiot? Yes.
"permanently damaged someone’s life." Give me a break.
And AuburnJunkie, see no bias there. I happen to be an Alabama Fan, and Auburn fan when they're not playing Alabama (my daughter is about to graduate from Auburn). |

I don't know what you and your mates get up too, but i'd kill someone for doing that to me. 2 years is a light punishment, and i'd say the judge took into acount that the perp. doesn't have enough braincells to consider the implication of his actions. |

Probably happens every day in a college dorm. Generally a vicious monkey tap, with a follow-up of extremely hot sauce in the beer, or some other cruel prank is a proper retaliation. 2 years in prison? Holy drat me. How about a public apology and a couple hundred hours of community service? Considering it happened in Alabama though, I'm surprised the judge didn't sentence him to go to church... |
