Canada is really right in the middle in regard to US/UK spellings. It can even depend on who's writing the sentence. Newspapers around here use "color, humor, labor)" while most folks don't, and other US spellings, like "mold," are standard here. Yet we use "calibre," "theatre,"and "metre". We tend to use "ize" endings, but "ise" is not uncommon and people wouldn't consider it a mistake. I could go on, but it would be a long essay! |

Curiousboy, we rock it with a "z" in the states. So it would recognize "recognize" yet fail to recognise "recognise."
I would suspect Canada would also accept "recognise," though, being within the Commonwealth? Any of my northerly neighbors want to weigh in? |
