"trying to remember from movies like point break, im pretty sure police response time is something like 3 minutes."

I've had to call the police for violent crimes before, most still in progress. I can tell you now, it doesn't take 3 minutes, it's closer to an hour if you're lucky. 2 hours if you're not.

i dont get it. what would be the point? if this thing did work, by the time the police arrived at your location the robber would be long gone. trying to remember from movies like point break, im pretty sure police response time is something like 3 minutes. if the robber has the money when the signal has been sent, they have about 3 minutes to disappear. 3 minutes can be a long time given the situation. but who knows maybe its not 3 minutes and the police can just magically teleport their asses there and save the day.

This is not true but if you read the Snopes article about it you find out that a guy named Joseph Zinger did come up with a plan for this reversed safety pin number although it never took off.

And since everyone is talking about it but hasn't read the article "Because palindromic PINs (e.g., 2002, 7337, 4884) cannot be reversed, Zingher's system included work-arounds for such numeric combinations."

"This 'hack' is heavily traveling around Facebook today."

Haven't seen it on Facebook at all today. However, I have seen it on Facebook and in emails over four years ago if I'm not mistaken.
