Tuesday, November 27, 2012 5:59:43 AM Okay. The sexualization and fashionization of the human body has now officially gone too far. If this in any way strikes you as inappropriate I strongly suggest that you sit down and think about your life, anxieties and sexual confidence. |

Tuesday, November 27, 2012 3:37:01 AM "Your physics teacher is creepy." Only because he wants you to join him in the pool for some half naked phun. Really, get some board shorts and a t-shirt otherwise no matter the age of students this can be seen as questionable behavior. /prudishness |

Monday, November 26, 2012 8:37:09 PM I think he should have a better body if he doesn't want to scare the kids. I say this as a practicing physicist ( who also needs a few crunches) |

Monday, November 26, 2012 5:17:23 PM That's not creepy. It's a useful teaching tool. Too many people think that science is boring. It's not - it's the coolest thing ever. A striking example of an odd aspect of science makes that point and improves learning. The most striking example I've seen was a lecturer kicking off a lecture by sticking his hand in a vat of boiling lead(*). That sure got people's attention. Don't try it at home! * It's legit - an example of the Leidenfrost effect. If your hand is wet then the sudden large enough increase in temperature will flash boil the water and create a temporary insulating layer. Too much water and it'll create a steam explosion that flings globs of boiling lead onto your arm. Really, don't try it at home. |
